Have any of you New England phans mulled over the possibility of a surprise Buffett appearance at the Patriots home opener on 9/9? Tobey Keith is on the "Pre-Game" show bill and since the first Fenway date is 9/10... maybe a suprise duet -"Piece of Work"??
Humor me...I'm just having my "Suprise Buffett Appearance" fantasy for the day!!!

That would be very cool....but I wouldn't plan on it. Toby will probably only be doing a few songs as part of the pre-game festivities and he'll probably want to showcase "his" material and not "Jimmy" material....maybe we'll be surprised, but I wouldn't count on it.

I would not count on it. Since this is an NFL production and they plan everything completely. Plus I would think that with all the increased popularity Jimmy is getting right now they would plug him being there just to get the extra audience.

Yeah - that's most likely the case. But since it's a nationally televised prime time event maybe he'll at least be in one of the luxury boxes!

What about the possibility of Toby doing a guest appearance at Fenway?

Anything is possible. What I don't understand about the NFL is that when the select the performers for these type of shows do they really think about who is performing. I missed the Janet thing at the Superbowl because I did not want to see Janet and Justin Timberlake. I won't be watching much of the opening show because I have no desire to see Elton John, Destiny's Child, Mary J Blige or Jessica Simpson perform. Unless they are just going with the hottie factor with Jessica and Beyonce, but that still does not explain Elton John. Does anybody else really want to see these people?

its not who the people want to see, its who the networks want us to see. With the huge network ownerships, they 'own' a lot of the artists that are being put in front of us...its free airtime for their artisits, not the artists that are in demand...my 2 cents...

Man, I hope it's not true. I'd be really disappointed if Jimmy continued to hang around with that right wing Bush-supporting blow hard.

I see that Jimmy records for RCA, and Toby for DreamWorks. If those two labels are corporate-associated(?), it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Jimmy "dropped in".

I need a new quote here.... suggestions?
Lee, I think you answered your own question! That would make a great quote for the rest of the season!

RCA and Dreamworks actually do NOT associate, and since it's the Nashville versions of both labels, they REALLy don't get along...
I heard there was some issues over Toby being on the record at all...

Martina's doing Chicago Thursday... if POW is the next release, maybe they'll shoot some video at Fenway. Seems plausible.

I hope that they don't shoot the video for the song at a concert. Since the last 2 videos Jimmy has done have had concert footage I would like to see his next video be a little different.
