Southern Caribbean Cruise

Post by nickelnee1000 »

For my honeymoon, I'm going on a Southern Caribbean cruise to St. Thomas, St. Marteen, St. John's, Barbados, and St. Lucia. We will only ber in each place for a day. Any recommendations on what place to see or visit if there for only a day?

On St Martin, have a taxi take you out to Orient Beach on the French side.
Enjoy the views, the sand, the people, the water, the sun. Then have lunch
at a seaside resturant named Kakao.

Trust me on this one you won't be disapointed.

ps the beach is clothing optional

Megan's Bay in St. Thomas is awesome.
And the cab (or better yet doorless busride) there was quite an experience.

I have been to almost all of those places, some of them multiple times

Saint Thomas - Maegan's Bay is my favorite beach there, but I would reccomend taking an excursion to Trunk Bay in Saint John, USVI. Its the most beautiful and scenic beach I have ever been to.

Saint Martin - Stop off at the Guavaberry store on the dutch side, its relitively near the docks in phillipsburg. Get guavaberry liqour and BBQ sauce. Try all the samples you want. Go to Last Mango In Paradise in Phillipsburg, get some Caribbean Soul T-Shirts and Buffett rares. Go to orient beach.

By saint John's, im assuming you are reffering to Antigua? never been there.

Saint Lucia - we took a tour by ourselves with a taxi driver. Everything was safe with this guy, but the island itself can be dangerous so be careful if you do what we did, and make sure you get a tourguide that doesn't look like he's gonna be trouble. If you want you can take an excursion, but it will cost you a lot more. Check out the Pitons, see the waterfalls and the volcano. This is in my opinion the most beautiful island in the caribbean, but possibly the most poverty-stricken and dirtiest.

Barbados - we went here, but it was christmas day so nothing was open. We just went to some beach and it wasn't anything spectacular, but I can't really reccomend anything since everything was closed.

Take the "Wild Thing" from the docks, all the way around the island to Magens Bay, enjoy the beach, the bar, the fun, the sun, then back on the boat and continue around back to the docks. Very fast boat, very cool crew, tons of fun, and you see the entire island.

If you're going to do nothing at least do it at the beach!

Not sure when you're going, but summertime in Barbados is Carnival time. Nothing beats the Crop Over Carnival in Barbados, and the Carnival Antigua is pretty hot also. Crop Over = 5 weeks of party, a great time. Crop Over this year has the coolest Moko Jumbies I think I've ever seen. Carnival Antigua this year had this one costume that was a huge sailing ship, I'm guessing about 20 ft tall.
Again, not sure what time frame you are going for...is it this fall, winter???

I'll second that! What a great time we had! Like the crew says: "Nobody knows you, so nobody cares!" Great ride. Great beach!

We took the shore excursion to Orient Beach. Nice beach with waves to jump around in. Kakao is a nice little place to eat.

If October is like April then most of the naked people (on the public beach)will be middle aged gay men. You will find better couples in the resort area at the end of the beach.

I'm sure your travel agent has advised you that you are going in the middle of hurricane season, and itineraries are subject to change for safety reasons.

As Jimmy would say, "We're Trying to Reason With the Hurricane Season" We're hoping the one will be over a little early this year.
