Its the sad truth, my friend. 2004 killed my love for Boston sports. I will never follow, think about, watch, debate, worry about, lose sleep over, read about, call people on the phone just to talk about any team more than I did the 2004 Red Sox. 2003 - 2004 seasons of MLB were quite literally the pinnacle of all things "love" for any sports team. As far as Jimmy - well, Fenway was special to me for many reasons. Everything was perfect that weekend. That summer, really. Jimmy is fun every year. But some shows are just special. I have the sandal from the show where Jimmy broke the curse of the bambino. That to me defines "pinnacle." But it aint over yet!!!! Jimmy might still surprise me yet.TommyBahama wrote:so basically the last 10 years you've been on a downhill after hitting the pinnacle 10 years agodrunkpirate66 wrote:Ten years ago Jimmy Buffett broke the Curse of the Bambino at Fenway Park. This show represents many things to me but mostly when I think back on it I realize that this is when I was at the pinnacle of my "Parrot Headed - ness"and the pinnacle of my love for the Boston Red Sox and my need for them to win a World Series. What a summer that was!!!! And what a weekend at Fenway.
Other than the Great - Great Woods Hurricane Show of 2008 (and a little Key West to Tampa excursion a few years back) this is still my favorite show by Jimmy - and I have been to about 80 at this point.
Can't believe it has been 10 years. Holy sh*t!
