Just got my Soundscan report for the week and LTC is #11. Also, Big and Rich knocked JB out of the #1 Country spot.

No. Big and Rich is a "country act" whose hook is they mix country and rap. Their current single is "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy." I'll keep my opinoin to myself on them.

How serious can you take Big and Rich? Wasn't one of them a former member of Lonestar?

Country music overall sucks....thats why they are resorting to acts like Jimmy (who is not really country) and incorportating rap into it with these guys.....anything to try and save a dying genre of music

The Big and Rich song is not too bad but the video should be nominated for Video of the Year. It has all the things that makes a video great:

1. The song has a good hook.
2. A marching Band.
3. Hot Women.
4. Plastic Doll.
5. Hot half-naked women shaking things for the camera. Yummy!
6. A midget with an umbrella.

What is not to like about the video. Did I mention hot women.?

Thanks! That's down about 15,000, compared to a decline of 24,000 the previous week. In absolute terms that's the smallest loss so far. It appears that sales are starting to stabilize a bit. Hopefully we'll see some improvement as Trip Around The Sun starts getting more airplay.

I would hardly say that country music as a whole sucks. True, some of the commercially successful artists leave something to be desired, but quality music can still be found on the air from acts like George Strait, Alan Jackson and others. And there is a TON of great country music out there that isn't being played.

Still no airplay in Dallas Ft Worth that I have heard.I listen to the radio mostly at work or driving(DUH?) I have scanned the country stations hoping to hear something! So I E-mailed a couple of them.------From 99.5"The Wolf" I got "I dont make the programming calls around here,But if your a REAL Parrothead the C.D. is pretty lame" From 96.7 "The Twister" I got--" We Do!" We play L.T.C. and Hey good lookin."Buffet is the man!" Damn if I have heard anything. For such a big market, music radio around here SUCKS! Rock and Country
