Please help list Buffett Charity & Environmental work

Post by Desdamona »

I'm sure there are tons of threads that mention causes that
JB has been involved with, but I was wondering if we could
get a semi-comprehensive list here. (This is actually to assist
our local PHC with some "whereases" for an official document.)
It'd be especially nice if links to organizations could be included
in the posts, like this...

Singing for Change http://margaritaville.com/sfc

Save the Manatee http://www.savethemanatee.org/smchist.htm

Current MOTM related fundraiser for Cancer Foundation
of the Florida Keys

Thanks in advance for any assistance! :D

Good idea, Des....it would be a good list to print out and have for local clubs to put in press releases, etc. Or to show those who think parrotheads just party, that we do more than our fair share of charity and environmental work.

That, too! But this is more about Mr. Buffett's own activities.
It does however raise the question I have about PHIP... Did
Jimmy require the charitable activities be included before
he "sanctioned" Parrothead Clubs being formed? That's my
understanding, but I haven't found any documentation...

I remember last year, with his parents deaths, contributions were solicited for Alzheimer's Associaton (he did a concert for that one), Univ. of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Scholarship and Mercy Medical Hospice.

The new Coconut Telegraph has info about the "Peets" Buffett scholarship at University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast.
