I'm Seeing Prince on Saturday

Woohooo!!!! One of my favorite artists growing up has been Prince. I've sincerely dug him since I was about 7 years old. Thanks to the influence of my older sister. It was a time when I thought "Little Red Corvette" was about a car. I know better now

Anyway...I know some PHs out there have seen him on the Musicology tour and I just wanted to hear about what ya thought. I know he's not playing his 'naughty stuff any more (like Darlin' Nikki), but what songs did you get to hear that you weren't expecting?

Was it simply awesome? Should I wear purple?

I don't think I've worn anything but a wedding dress or tropical shirt to any concert in a long time! Help!!

It's ok, I think I need to listen to it again too (since I thought it was about the owner of a car...)

Whooops. And I forgot to add that this concert is courtesy of my fabulous husband. It was my mother's day gift. Now that he's registered and could be lurking I have to give him credit where credit is due.

I guess I must be dumb
'Cuz you had a pocket full of horses
Trojan and some of them used
But it was Saturday night,
I guess that makes it all right
And you say what have I got to lose?

What part of that do you think was about a car?

It was this verse that gave it away:

Move over baby (move over baby)
Gimme the keys (gimme the keys)
I’m gonna try 2 tame your little red love machine
(I’m gonna try 2 tame your little red love machine)

The little red love machine does not mean a Corvette!

Like I said, the driver of the car, and I thought the Vette was just used to pick people up (since everyone I know with a Vette has used it to score).

Before I went to law school I used to work with a guy who drove a Porsche. He made Bill Gates look like a stud. :o One of the women in the office asked why a guy like that would drive a Porsche and I said to help him pick up babes. She said "The Porsche gets you to the door. You still need the key to open it."

I saw Prince in Shreveport (technically it was Bossier City) and had a great time!

Definately wear purple. If you've got any latex, wear that! He loves it and you might get invited back stage. No kidding!

The venue even served liquor. Prince and crown on the rocks! He did much of his old stuff as an acoustical set, which was good. I would have preferred to have him play the guitar more (if any, I don't remember him playing) - that would have truly laid me out.

Congrats Mal. You are gonna have a great time!

Thanks Linda. I am very fired up! Unfortunately, I retired my latex collection when I gave birth! Latex is like spandex; it's a privelige, not a right.

Rock on Pencil Thin!!!! I have no idea where our seats are. I tried to win some from Alice the other day to see if I could do any better. We are somewhere on the 3rd level but in the front row.

The Alice contest was "Your 15 minutes of Fame". I don't have a cell phone so I pulled over at 38th and Sheridan and was calling like mad from 2 different payphones. Finally got through and the contest was over. They didn't take my call. The gal thought I had a cool story----which of course was getting married at JB...being in the paper and having WDWGDAS dedicated to us!!

Wooohoo!!!!!!!!!!
