How Does Rain Affect the Tailgate?
A friend of mine who is a Buffett virgin asked me how rain would affect a tailgate. This has never happened to me so does anyone have any interesting stories about tailgating in the rain? I would hope it wouldnt affect the party too much. We thought it might even make it more fun.

That's what tents are for - EZUP's not the camping kind. You should be able to find a cheap one for $20 or so. Take a good raincoat and don't let the weather spoil your fun. Unless it starts lightning, that's a different story.
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

Rain, what rain? I was at Atlanta last year when Jimmy mentioned coming in on the I85/I75 Canal and the "waterfall effect" for the Tiki tour that someone forgot to turn off.
Needless to say, you get really wet. People with RVs and cars invite you in, but most people don't even pay attention. You just keep drinking and party on. We were already under a tree, so we avoided the brunt of the storm. People inside used the traps they brought to sit on and cover.
Its a Buffett concert, just enjoy it!

It sure makes the wet tee-shirt and "nearly-naked slip'n'slide" events easier...mexcooker12 wrote:A friend of mine who is a Buffett virgin asked me how rain would affect a tailgate. Follow these simple tips and you will be fine
2 Cheap ponchos from walgreens
1 to wear 1 to sit on if on the lawn
Umbrella (optional)
2 extra drinks before you leave home
no bra's (women only)
4 extra drinks during pre-show
a cover for your drinks so as to not dilute your drinks.

Partying and fun are in my immediate future!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!![]()

Thanks! Been waiting months for this. Can barely contain my excitement. Trying to pace myself so I survive the weekend. Running out of patience...just chilling with my Buffett music right now. Might have to leave soon though. I see people in the lot...must go party. If I'm in any condition to do so...maybe I'll let ya all know how the concert was late tonight. Bye everyone!! Wish you were here!!!buffettbride wrote:Hooray for you YP! I'm glad you made it there safely! Have a blast tonight!YuppieParrothead wrote:I'm sitting in the Holiday Inn in Tinley Park right now. THAT was SNOW?? Gee, and here I thought it was just waste products from smolering hemp....kinjakid wrote:Rain doesn't change a thing.
It snowed at Alpine a few years ago and it was still a blast.
That was in 2001 - otherwise known as the year we did the finz dance with mittens on. People put on sweat shirts & polar fleece then put their costumes on top of that. Despite the 40 degree temperature, summer started with the opening bars of Brown Eyed Girl....
