It's so funny that you mention this. That's playing in my truck right now!! I was thinking almost the exact same thing about Love and Luck today. Yay!!

Ah, coincidence city!

I just got a form at school yesterday for submitting a quote you would like to appear below your picture in the yearbook. I was thinking of:

“With a little love and luck, you will get by, with a little love and luck, we’ll take the sky.”

Some things I wondered about the studio recording from 88’:

1. The book in BBB&B says the song was left of Hot Water. How could they have picked songs such as “Smart Woman” over Love and Luck?

2. Anyone ever wonder about the laughing at the end? I assume the trumpet player did something that was not in the music and it cracked Jimmy up. Had it been I Hot Water, I doubt they would have left this in the master. It probably was intended to fade-out.

Hey now -- Smart Woman is one of my all-time favourite Buffett songs! Love that funky pseudo-reggae beat and catchy chorus. I like Love and Luck, but I wouldn't consider it a fair trade.

I second that sentiment!

I should have known this would happen... I never said I dislike Smart Woman, just would have chosen L&L in it's place. Nothing against the song, it's just the spot on the album (second to last) would suit it perfectly right before That's What Living is to Me.

I find the version from the box set refreshing at times with the guitar playing at the beginning. But TTS still tops it

Love & Luck was my wife's and my wedding song! I use it as part of all my email and print signatures. For me it's a way of life!

My FAVORITE song of all Buffett tunes by far.

Can you tell my my brand new tattoo? Check out the photo to the left.

I am hoping like hell I run into one of the camera crew during the tailgate that films the lot at each show. If I can talk my way into it, I'd love to get on stage and show off my tatt on the big screeen while Jimmy sings.
Love & Luck!
~Island Dog~

...nothin' to show but this brand new tattoo.
(see mine at the left)

... my girl, my friends & family, my boat, my music, and my dog... that's what livin' is to me.
