Reporting live from RI.....
The crowd was generally a lot younger than a Buffett crowd. Fewer drunks, but then at 4:30 the parking lot was still mostly empty, so there wasn't much TIME for people to get drunk before the 7:30 start. The ratio of females to males was quite high....
The tailgating was anemic, by Buffett standards, no doubt about it. But it was pleasant enough. Just kinda quiet, with plenty of grills going and beer flowing, but it has a long way to go to reach Buffett standards.
Now, the
show, on the other hand, was
FANTASTIC!!!!!
Between them Uncle Kracker, Rascal Flatts, and Kenny played for 3 1/2 hours, with two 10-15 minute breaks for set changes. KC may not have the song repertoire (yet) that JB has, but he puts on a high-energy, outstanding show! The crowd was just as much into it as at any Buffett show; my ears are still ringing this morning from the noise inside the pavilion...
At some point, I realized that I knew pretty much all the words to the songs KC was singing.
I sure as heck felt like I got my money's worth!!!!
