I'd rather be in Chicago, at House of Blues, listening to Mac, with Jimmy tomorrow, but I couldn't get to Chicago, so I'll make the best of it and party with Kenny.....

(wonder how many people I'll know.... methinks there may be quite a few from the usual Great Woods/Buffett crowd! (I hope so, anyway! :D ))

The crew director drives around the lot in a Gator throughout the day. He was going to get Kenny to come by our setup in Dallas, but he was too sick I guess. He did that show and then canceled his performance the next night. Be on the lookout though.

So how was the tailgatin'? It was probably pretty weak, huh? Nothing compares to a JB tailgate experience!! Not even NFL tailgating!!

Fenway is gonna be great!! :-?

Reporting live from RI.....

The crowd was generally a lot younger than a Buffett crowd. Fewer drunks, but then at 4:30 the parking lot was still mostly empty, so there wasn't much TIME for people to get drunk before the 7:30 start. The ratio of females to males was quite high.... :P

The tailgating was anemic, by Buffett standards, no doubt about it. But it was pleasant enough. Just kinda quiet, with plenty of grills going and beer flowing, but it has a long way to go to reach Buffett standards. :D

Now, the show, on the other hand, was FANTASTIC!!!!!

Between them Uncle Kracker, Rascal Flatts, and Kenny played for 3 1/2 hours, with two 10-15 minute breaks for set changes. KC may not have the song repertoire (yet) that JB has, but he puts on a high-energy, outstanding show! The crowd was just as much into it as at any Buffett show; my ears are still ringing this morning from the noise inside the pavilion... :o :D

At some point, I realized that I knew pretty much all the words to the songs KC was singing. :o

I sure as heck felt like I got my money's worth!!!! :D

from the looks of it, the Chesney tailgate in Dallas was far advanced compared to the tailgate at GW. :D

I was there, the tailgate wasn't really close to buffett standards, and it was extremely easy to pick out the parrotheads from the non parrotheads. The people who were tailgating had some nice set ups, I saw a few tiki bars and what not. The show itself was cool, but in reality just made me wish I was at Buffett which was tough.
