wow 4 pages about ketchup....well I have a couple questions then.

What is the correct spelling; ketchup or catsup? Why do we need two different ways to spell it?
I've heard that all ketchup is made from tomatoes that can't be sold as produce(bruised, old, bug infested) Any truth to that?
Please tell me why someone can't make a bigger ketchup packet. Who the hell uses only one?

Ketchup is great on anything, especially eggs(only when scrambled) and Mac and Cheese. I like the new slogans that Heinz is using on their bottles. I've seen "Comforts burnt hot dogs" and "Has restaurant experience"

:P

Well even if you don't think they make a good burger, ya gotta love the toppings bar.
All the Ketchup/mustard/mayo/cheese/salsa/lettuce/tomato/etc/etc....... you could want. Super sloppy :D

I went to this place in San Fran once - Johnny Rockers?

Ordered my burger - as I like it - meat, cheese, grilled onions, lettuce and tomato sauce (ok ... ketchup) .. that was it - nothing else needed ...... (no green thing either!)

Out comes this burger - dripping in stuff - mayo, mustard, ketchup!

I called the guy over and said I ticked just ketchup and it had to be redone - he looked at me like I was an alien! "just one condiment" :o

Just once sauce please - if you were meant to have them all - they would all be in one murkey coloured squeezy bottle :P :P :P

Ditto. Don't like ketchup or mayo. Yuck. Mustard or A1 is tasty.

livingstonbob wrote:I like Bourbon on my hamburger. Seriously! When frying the hamb, put a little on it and let it sit before turning it over. Gives the hamburger a really good flavor. The stronger the bourbon the better.

Heck yeah. We have a spray bottle with Jim Beam in it for that very reason. Adds a wonderful flavor and also a crispy glaze that helps seal in juices. Yummmm. I think we're gonna have to have Beam burgers tonight!

I like mine with lettuce and tomatoes, Heinz 57 (ketchup) and french fried potatoes.

Please also, I gotta have the bacon. I'm BIG on the PIG!

I like mustard and salad dressing. NO cheese! It's too fattening!!!!

I'll take sliced kosher dills...No cold draft beer. Coors Light or Mich Ultra will do! (Or a chocolate malt  )

True story:
Just now, I was fixing myself a scramble egg sandwich for breakfast. (This requires the use of ketchup in my world). For some reason, I kept looking right past the ketchup bottle in the refigerator. I said to myself "oh come on! We can't NOT have ketchup! That would be a crime!"

I think they make a great burger. Only problem is there aren't any left in Indiana anymore.

All this is making me hungry. Seriously. Ketchup is fine, as long as its accompanied by mayo. Maybe some mustard or thousand island dressing. Anyone up for an In 'n' Out animal style???? Also gotta have ketchup on my fries.

Love the idea about spritzing bourbon or Jim Beam on them while grilling. Will definitely have to try that. :pirate:
