mmmm..... okay, away from the visual, and back to the question at hand:

a) K-Mart, as a result of their bankruptcy saw fit to close all their really good stores (the Super Ks) in Columbus and the metro area. This left the ones that had already acquired the classic "K-Mart Smell" for the most part, and not even all of those. As a result, I have no idea where the nearest surviving one is, and don't shop the Big Red K.

b) Wal-Mart.... One is just down the road from me, and I avoid it like the plague for the first week of the month, and after 5p. Unless I want to watch a circus, populated by creatures created by generations of random unprotected sex at county fairs, alleys, and backstreet bars.

c) Target, yes. Even the one on the edge of the Hilltop seems to have the reputation of being too upscale for residents there, so they go to Wal-Mart and leave the Greatland Targets alone. A very pleasant shopping experience, even for clothes. Big wide aisles, decent lighting, and no funky smells. Definitely the destination for buying bulk stuff, and household cleaning supplies. (and flipflops. :D)

I don't wear thongs, but if I were to do that... I'm voting for fishnet.. ;)

are you sure you haven't been in the Wal-Mart by me......I thought we only had the circus freaks....

WTCS!!

I despise going to any of these. The old K-Mart had a great sporting goods manager so you could get fishing gear and ammo but its gone now(demolished a few years back, new Wal-Mart there now).

I really hate Wal-Mart but it's 10 min closer than Target...

Wal Mart is cheaper, but I'll pay more to avoid the crowds! Wal Mart is always so crowded and busy. Going to Target is a much less stressful experience.

I'LL GIVE YOU THAT, PLUS THEY HAVE COOL STUFF, BUT EVERY TIME I GO IN THERE I FIND MYSELF SAYING, "YOU CAN GET THAT CHEAPER AT WAL-MART".

Yes, but Target is more "civilized".

K-Mart has the old time, nasty feel to it. And it looks like it's
falling apart. I rarely go to one unless I'm on the road and
need something and it's the first place I find.

Target has always felt a lot like a cross between WalMart and
JCPenney... more "fasionable" in their layout, more openess,
more pleasant. Unfortunately, also farther away from my house.
I usually Christmas shop there.

WalMart... what can't I say... I'm a former employee
who still owns a chunk of stock. It's closer to home. I go about
once every month or two to stock up on things I can't buy at SAMS
(or that I'm not willing to buy in bulk.) I also happen to be a former
employee who was FIRED! (But that's another story...)
I used to hate shpooing there because of the narrow aisles and
incessant loud use of the intercom ("Sportin' goods, pick up on the
rhet line!!!!" "All associates!! Zone defense at this time!!") but most
of that has improved greatly, thank goodness.

Anyhoo... I shop more at WalMart, but prefer Target. (Sorry, K-Mart.)

I live in a small town and Walmart is the only thing we have within a 30 mile radius. But if I'm only going for a couple things I would rather give my money to the small business still trying to make a living before the 'big' places put him out.

I HATE Walmart. Cannot stand that store. I avoid it at all costs. Walmart is the Devil himself disguised as a retail store.

Don't really care for Kmart but I will go there.

Target is the best out of three.

Walmart is closest, so I go there most often, but only for toiletries, snacks, film, electronics and the like. Used to always get my diapers and formula there, but fortunately that's been years. The prices are worth the pain of mingling with the mutants.

KMart is NOT worth the hassle.

Tarzhay is preferred, and especially for clothing and housewares - did you see all the parrot stuff at the beginning of the summer??? Did you see all the tiki stuff in the middle of summer? They're totally catering to the tastes of parrotheads!!!!

Most women HATE Wal-Mart. But most love Target. That is just my experience.

I didn't mean anything by it.

I think in retail terms it's "86'd".
