My vote goes to OPH, only because it is very uplifting when played live.

And despite its "over-recognition", just based on what I have read recently, I think Margaritaville is pretty good too. I am so used to the big CRB version, and the bar band renditions. But when I listen to the original studio version...it seemed pretty innovative for its time.

Also, I know Jimmy didn't write it, but Coast of Marsailles is a great, great song!

Its a close call between A Pirate Looks At 40 and One Particular Harbour! But I think that if I had to choose between the two of them, I'd have to go with A Pirate Looks At 40 :pirate:

Musically I agree with OPH. However lyrically, for me its Island (from Coconut Telegraph). Nearly every verse can be taken as a metaphore or litteral.

I don't think that I can put a nail into ONE EXACT JB song that I would label as "my favorite", just because I enjoy all of his stuff, HOWEVER, if I were to try, I would say "Pirate Looks at Forty" would be that song.

Tin Cup Chalice. I concur with Jimmy when he says the song takes him back to watching the sun set over Mallory Square...hard to get better than that. 8)
Not that any of these others are "bad" choices in my book, but nothing hits me like this one does.

Pirate Looks at 40, without a doubt. The first JB song I ever heard and the one that got me hooked. Definitely rings true.

You are one strange man Bob.....I love it.

My favorite song would have to be a tie between Tin Cup Chalice, A Pirate Looks at Forty, and Floridays.

A tough Call!!!!!!

Post by SchoonerWharf »

I must say this list has surprised me. One Particluar Harbor is one of my least favorite Buffett songs and I have often remarked that I could not understand why he always played it at his shows. I KNOW NOW!!!!!! Didn't even fathom it was that popular among the Parrotheads!!

As for the question, Cowboy In the Jungle just works on every level.

I know this is a far out choice, but my choice is "Pre You".
I also think Nobody Speaks to the Captain No More fits the bill for this post, as well as No Plane on Sunday, and African Friend.
