May I Ask Why? (Part Deux)

I do a lot of walking in NYC - from Penn Station to my office almost every morning, back to Penn Station at night and sometimes just strolling around the neighborhood at lunchtime - and there's something that's always bothered me. Why do so many young girls try to squeeze their Rosie O'Donnell bodies into Britney Spheres's clothes?

Because every woman is a beautiful flower who should show off her body... (holy carp, I gagged on my water typing that!!)

Spandex is a privelige, not a right.

I don't need to see a high school girl with a bigger beer belly than mine wearing a belly shirt and one of those flouncy skirts that have mysteriously become popular recently. Oh, the humanity.

How else are they going to show off their goods?

I will tell you in about 5 years. That is how far behind the fashion trend we are.

Why do they make Spandex in XL sizes?

See XL spandex is not the problem. There's a lot of "big" girls out there that can get away with wearing spandex just fine. It's when you get into XXL and XXXL that there is a problem.

I like XL spandex, it's tight but not binding on me.

People are able to wear what they like and feel comfortable in - not everyone is going to like it.
I am a "big" girl - I cover up with long long shirts as that is what I feel comfortable in.....
If that is what is being sold for the younger people to wear - why shouldnt they wear it?
You dont have to look .......

For the same reason that most of the men who wear Speedo, SHOULD NOT wear them. (Speedo Bob, of course is the exception!)

Now see .... here ... on the beaches - most men are in speedo's and I dont have a problem with it - and they have as much right to wear them as I do to walk around in a bathing suit - granted - it is not a good look - and I minimise the time before a towel or shirt is thrown over - but .... everyone should be able to wear what they like - regardless of what size or shape they may be .....
(I should stay out of this thread I know

OK, I can let most things pass, but I draw the line on belly shirts and stretch marks

And why would you have a belly button piercing to draw more attention to those creepy things
