To whom should I complain (Fenway)?

So, last week when Ticketmaster did the huge drop of last minute tix, we decided to upgrade ours and sell the original ones.

We pick up tickets at will call without incident for great right field roof seating (the area with the base-shaped tables and nice long bar) and go to the section right before 8pm.

The only problem: The table they sold us DOESN'T EXIST. We have tickets for Table 218, and the tables are numbered 201-216. What? The usher runs me downstairs to ticket services while my wife and 2 other friends wait upstairs. The show begins. I wait in a line for over 10 minutes, only to be told nothing can be done until I go back upstairs and retrieve all 4 ticket stubs. I run back upstairs, then downstairs and back to the booth, which still has a line of people. I cut past them as per instructions from the ticket booth people, and am harrassed by the people that don't realize I already waited through the line (though I explain it to them).

After offering me average seats that I refuse, the booth people eventually give us good tickets on the field as compensation. However, at this point, Jimmy is finishing his 5th song. So due to all of this, despite being at the correct section by 8pm, I've missed a sixth of the show and am in a bad mood until a couple of Jimmy's tunes bring me back to a good place.

My question: who's fault is this? My thought is that I should complain to Ticketmaster and ask for a refund of all service charges (approx. $50) as compensation. If anyone has futher thoughts, please post them.

Thanks, pholks.

TM would be the place to start, put it writing..... but since in their eyes "they made it right" they'll probably blow you off..... good luck.

Welcome to the world of ticketmaster. This is not the first or last time that ticketmaster has done this. I agree with AlbatrossFlyer, you could start by goint to TM customer service but I don't think you will get anywhere. I have heard of people getting tickets to sold out shows and someone else already having there seats and TM did nothing for them.

Thanks.

I emailed the Red Sox and Ticketmaster with derivitives of the same letter this morning. We'll see if anything happens (I doubt it, but I had to try).

That said, Boston was a great day on Friday barring those unfortunate 30 minutes!

What's to "complain" about? Sounds to me like you had a good time.

:D What's to complain about? TM or Fenway committed fraud by selling tickets to seats that didn't exist! Compensation should be available. I'd try small claims court against Fenway, because TM position will be they couldn't sell you the seats if Fenway didn't tell them that those seats were available! Good Luck! :D
