How were the Fenway shows?

I've read some of the comments which were mostly positive. I'm curious to see overall customer satisfaction, especially after all of the pre-show debate and discussion.

This certainly isn't scientific, but I'm curious how ya'll would rate it on the common model scale of 1 - 5.

Thanks for the input!

As far as the show itself goes, I give it a 5. I thought the atmosphere was fantastic. The lack of tailgating did not bother me a bit.

I thought his performance was the best I've ever seen. But then again I've only seen 5 shows. The venue was obviously awesome. Fantastic evening all around. I give it a superb.

Due to doctor's orders I haven't been able to drink for the past 3 weeks. So even though I'm not happy about it, it did give me the chance to attend a couple of JB concerts in a totally sober state of mind. To be honest it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Anyway, I thought that the Fenway shows were awesome!! This may have something to do with my state of mind, but personally I found the Friday night crowd to be much more electric than last night's and I also thought that Friday's set list was better than Sunday's. All in all the JB @ Fenway was a good thing. Well, as long as it was a one time deal that is...

as far as the fenway experience , i give it a 10,but as far as baseball stadiums for shows a 2. you have the fan effect.up front A1 - A7 you are to spread out. i was in A1 , the sound was very good but, as far as seeing we were still a good distance from the stage.i couldn't imagin what sitting in the grandstands was like.would i do it again probably.but i would pay extra to sit closer to the stage.i think the price structure should of been different. sitting in A4 and sitting in the last row behind homeplate are not the same value.

I guess I would give Friday a 4-, and Sunday a 5-. I think Jimmy was really into it as was the crowd so the two fed off eachother. The acoustics weren't great, but the show was great.

Between Friday and Sunday's shows, I would say that I had a better time at Friday's show. I was in A7, so I couldn't see that the stage that well, but the sound was great, lots for phan phun. Sunday I was in C6 and the event people s*cked! (Sorry, but they did) I was standing in front of my own seat (literally touching it) and I was told to stand back, keep the aisle clear. Grrrr. The sound was great and had a "better" view of the stage, but still too far away  (Maybe I would be happy if I was front and center?) Overall tho, I was very happy with the shows. It was a once in a lifetime experience and it was PHUN! I liked the fact that new/different songs were played both nites and I know that I exposed some non-Parrotheads to a good time (I have to email them pictures that I took of them!)

The Friday show was positively electric! We had good seat (B3) and could see/hear well. The whole Curse thing was funny, and Sweet Caroline rocked! I will say that as the number of musicians increased the sound quality went down. I heard almost no echo all night.

Nothing beats turning around and seeing 35,000+ people doing "Fins"! :D

I totally agree about turning around and seeing everyone in Fenway doing Fins...

We were on the field both nights...I think that the energy was better on Friday. I missed the tailgating, but as a life long Sox fan, seeing Buffett at Fenway was pretty close to a religious experience!!

I gave both shows an average (c+) review...... We were listening in on RM and I kind of expected more than what was delivered for two shows of that status to be playing Fenway.........

I'm sure if I was there, I would have a different review, but from listening in on RM, he has done some much better shows from this tour....

Not to discount your opinion, but I don't think you can really judge the Buffett Fenway experience by listening on RM... I listened too, but I couldn't get a feel for what it was like to be there. I think you need to see it and feel it too.

Just like listening to the recordings I have of the Alpine shows I've been to... they're great to help relive the experience, but they're certainly not the same as being there, and don't capture all of the energy and excitement.

Being a die hard Red Sox and Buffett fan, here is my analysis. The venue, 4 out of 5. Jimmy was pretty far away no matter where you were sitting but it was sureal seeing him at Fenway.

Atmosphere outside the park, 3 out of 5. Bars were good but just not the die hard Buffett atmosphere you see at the Tweeter. Not even close.

The show, 5 out of 5. Jimmy looked very excited to play Fenway both nights (I would be too if I made 3 million in a weekend). The set lists were great and Jimmy was full of energy. Believe me, I sure he says this EVERYWHERE he plays, but Jimmy did mention that he though these were two of the best shows he has ever done.

The crowd, 4 out of 5. A lot of non Buffett fans around but nobody sat either show for the whole time.

I just can't believe I have to wait a full year to see him again. It is such a great weekend to look forward to.

I thought the shows were alot of fun. It was kinda sureal to see Jimmy playing in Fenway. It was worth it for a one time party...now lets get back to Great Woods!
