Ya see, I haven't had my ass chewed yet today for being a "smartass", so I thought I might post something under a thread you stared. I knew I would catch a few insults for that.
I bet you didn't know you were in such an exclusive club - the only person on the planet who never heard of the Drive By Truckers.
I guess I need to start listening to something besides Kenny Chesney.
Don't feel bad A1A. I had never heard of them either. I prolly woulda asked by sayin "Who the heck is that" instead of "Who the hell are they". I thought your made it seem genuine though.
i guess the "hell" part might have been a little harsh, but the question was genuine.

Maybe you're blind or you somehow managed to miss an entire post where I explained this but if you go back and look at your original reply you'll see why I responded to you the way I did. Now, how about getting off of my back. It'd be very much appreciated.
I went and listened to some of the samples from that site. I think I would rather puncture my ear drums with knitting needles before doing that again. Man they s***.
There was a review of their show from the other night in the Boston Herald. The author actually makes a somewhat comparison to Lynyrd Skynyrd and AC/DC???

No reason, just time for a change. Maybe I'll have a better picture soon.
if i had a picture of me with heather i would show it off.
I have a new one from the parking lot at Jones Beach 2 weeks ago with Heather and Jules. The image is too large for an avatar right now, I have to get it to the right size and see how it looks.

You'd have a good point if I had posted this in the Buffett Discussion area but I didn't, I posted it in the Off Topic area which is set aside solely for the discussion of non-Buffett subjects.

I wouldn't say they necessarily sound that much like either of those bands but the Truckers did do a double concept album called Southern Rock Opera that loosely parallels the storyline of the Skynyrd saga up until the time of the plane crash and also deals with what it was like growing up in the South during the 70s. The rise of arena rock during that time period also figures prominently into the story so bands like AC/DC, Blue Oyster Cult and other southern rock bands such as Molly Hatchet are mentioned during the record. The early Truckers albums are a mix of country and rock that bring to mind a number of influences but mostly they created their own unique sound. Subsequent albums abandoned many of the country nuances that graced their earlier work in favor of a rock sound that more closely approximated the feel of their live shows.
hey Jahfin, who the hell (lol ) is that guy in your avatar??? he looks exactly like my history teacher from my freshman year of highschool except that guy has longer hair

It's David Lindley from Jackson Browne's band but he also does his own thing on the side. He's been out doing some gigs with John Hiatt as of late as well. If you like the island sound, he might just be your cup o' tea. There's some sound clips on the ordering page on his web site if you wanna check him out.

Thanks. I listened to some sound clips on iTunes and he sounds pretty good . . . I see that he did Mercury Blues, did he do that before or after Alan Jackson?
