For Anyone that LIKES Alan Jackson

Post by parrotsgirl »

I picked up the new cd this weekend, and I honestly love it....Although I love everything he does, I like this one cause he mixes it up a lil....

I was just wondering if anyone else had gotten it and what they thought.... :) :)

and before anyone feels they need to jump in and tell me why I SHOULDNT like him...Don't bother....

I mean anyone's opinion is always welcome....but seems anytime we start a thread about someone in the Country business, it ends up a battle of taste...

I just "simply" wanna know if anyone else got it and like it as much as I did

I've got it and think it's quite good.
Look I'm a little slow today, I just switched to Sanka, so have a heart.

I got it the 1st day available...

Like most of Alan's other stuff, I really like it! I enjoy the music he makes, and not really knowing him, he seems very down to earth and quite likeable!

I especially like "To Do What I Do" on the new album... here's a link to a thread specifically about that song:

I got it last week and i think its pretty good. Not his best work ever, but its nice. The only major problem i have with this CD is that all of the songs have such resemblences to other songs he's done. I thought "Drive" was better, but this one still is good, and I love "Talking Song Repair Blues" and "Rainy Day in June" and "USA Today":D

And thankyou, parrotsgirl, because it does seem like every time a popular country star is brought up there is a certain person who seems to intervine and say how much they don't like them, and by doing that they turn the discussion from something positive to something negative. Also, their opinion on the musician was not even asked, nor wanted in the first place.

I like the "older AJ stuff"
I have not heard the new CD yet but thanks for the
opinions so when I do go to pick up a new CD
I will look at this one twice.

(PS I like Kenny and Toby too) :D :D

I can only guess you're referring to me. I have contributed my thoughts in recent threads concerning Keith Urban and Tim McGraw. I only offered my opinion, nowhere did I turn the thread "negative". As far as my opinion being wanted or asked for, this is a message board where as far as I know, everyone is welcome to join in. I could understand if I outright slandered the artists in question but that wasn't the case at all, I stated very politely how I arrived at my opinion of both of them and the state of "country" music in general. And for the record, I'm not the only one that offered a differing opinion of those artists. I could understand if I was hateful or rude in offering those opinions but nowhere in either of those threads was I unkind to anyone.

Well I can say at least from me, I was NOT finger pointing anyone.....

I think paisley is the most musically talented of the previously mentioned group, but when it comesto overall songs Alan is just awesome.
