It depends upon the type of test, varies from a few months to several years. How far back you want to go determines the price of the test. Not many companies will pay for the more sophisitcated and expensive tests.
And isn't there a point where is is none of the companies biz?????

Yes there is - and that point is any time you are not on the clock. As far as I'm concerned, if you are not under the influence (drugs, alcohol, whatever) while you are on their nickel, it's none of their damn business. If a company wants to control what you do in your off-time, they should pay you for 24 hours per day.

I feel the same way and I don't even smoke pot. I guess I can see it if you operating heavy machinery or driving a school bus or something but when you're off the clock you're off the clok in my opinion. When do they start giving the test that tells whether you beat your spouse or not?

actually... I see there is one option that is missing on the poll.

As long as he is straight enough to perform when I paid $40 to sit on a lawn and dodge idiots, I don't care if he cores out Opus X Churchills, and repacks them with an ounce of crack.

I've got long hair, and no part of it is more than three or four years old!!! I know this because I hit the bottle (I really AM a blonde, I just 'enhance' the lightness 8) ) every month. Who keeps hair on their body for nine years? Egads :o Stephen King could write a book about that! :o I know! Crystal Gayle....her hair's past her knees!

I don't usually get in to these conversations, but I so agree with you guys! WHATEVER I do on my time, is not any of work's business. Kinda like seperation of church and state - seperation of work and not work. As long as my personal life does not "interfere" with work, it isn't work's bidness. 8) This applies to everything I do. Having an employer check your credit history before giving you a job is wrong. Thankfully, I don't have to worry about this stuff but I've known too many people that have had issues like these come up and to me it just ain't right.

OK, I'll get off my soapbox now. :o

Here's a hair test neither one of us could pass:
do you have more on your head than on your back [ear, bathroom floor, etc]?

the one thing Directv is not at all worried about is who sleeps with who.

unless one is a supervisor and the other is a peon.
