Obviously, I have seen the discussion about the relationship between Jimmy and Croce, but I was watching television not too long ago and saw a compliation of CDs titled "Best Story Writers EVER". And Jim Croce had several songs on the cd. However, as I listened to "A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean" today, I could help but think that Jimmy's older stuff should be included on such a cd. Peanut Butter Conspiracy, Great Filling Station Hold Up, Cuban Crime of Passion, are ALL unbelieveable songs, but even better story songs! Am I the only one that sees this in JBs music??
PHINS UP!!

Jimmy and Jim Croce
We sailed from the port of indecision
Young and wild with oh so much to learn
Days turn into years as we tried to fool our fears, But to the port of indecision I returned.

I agree. I think that Jimmy can tell one hell of a story in his music. I still find that there are some people out there who only know him as the Margaritaville guy and that is most likely why he's not included. He's been typecast as a drunken sailor songwriter when he really has some amazing songs such as Floridays, The Wino and I Know, Changing Channels, and so many others. I was glad to see that he played If the Phone Doesn't Ring It's Me during the LTC Tour.
