Baby at San Diego
Me and Laura would like to take our 1-1/2 year old son to the show but can't get in touch with the Coors Amphitheater to find out if we can or if we need a ticket for him. We have Lawn tickets already and we don't think we need a ticket for him but we should know before we drive down there. Any one have any knowledge of this?
We gotta go where it's warm - Punta Margarita.

Re: Baby at San Diego
Ticket or not, really, please rethink this. The lawn just isn't the place for an 18 month old. He really could get hurt. I believe he needs a ticket to get in. Why not take that money and pay a sitter? He's too young to get anything out of the show anyway, and you two get a worry-free adult night out.John & Laura wrote:Me and Laura would like to take our 1-1/2 year old son to the show but can't get in touch with the Coors Amphitheater to find out if we can or if we need a ticket for him. I have to agree with SGH, he's far too young and the dangers outweigh the benefits. Not only could he get hurt, but he would probably also be scared to death by the amount of people packed in a small space, the costumes, the noise, rowdiness etc. And if he starts bawling at the top of his lungs you're not gonna be too popular. Since this looks to be the only Cali show (grrrrrrrr
) it is gonna be wild, and folks aren't going to want to curb their enthusiasm because they are in the presence of a young child.
I love kids, but I do believe that there are places that are appropriate to bring them and places that are not, and as a parent you have a responsibility to consider ALL the factors.

Great call!!John & Laura wrote:Thanks for the feedback. We have rethought the idea and now we are trying to figure out babysitting.
I have three keets, but wouldn't have considered bringing one that young. For one thing, I know he'd get cranky and ruin *my* evening, and JB tickets cost too much for that!
He'll have a better time being spoiled by a sitter, you'll have an evening off, and everyone wins.

And I *think* I heard that they have little kid tour shirts...so you can get him his own LTC shirt and he'll be a happy camper...and you two can have a great "date nite".SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Great call!!John & Laura wrote:Thanks for the feedback. Rethinking it was a good move in my opinion. I have agreed to take my keet for the first time this year. He just turned 14. Now, of course, JIMMY SKIPPED NASHVILLE!!! Not fair for MY Jimmy!
"Mommy, when is Jimmy Buffett coming to OUR house? We go see him ALL THE TIME??" (Actual quote from my 5 y/o keet)

I had another view...does the venue charge regular admission for a baby? If so, that's an awful lot of money for a concert that a baby wouldn't get much out of. For the same money (or less even), take him to the zoo and let him feed the animals at the petting zoo. Or take him to a festival in the park. At least there are birds to watch there. I have a 5 year old and I couldn't imagine taking her. She wants to go home when she WANTS TO GO HOME. Other's there might want to hear the music. I am not trying to be ugly at all and hope I haven't offended anyone but I am a mom and I know how babies work. Once they learn to babble, before they learn to be still and quiet, it's a long road.

Now kids, be nice
I agree that a keet as young as the one we're talking about might get a little scared on the lawn. Heck, we were a little overwhelmed ourselves trying to get into the show the last couple of times at Coors when the crowd bottlenecked at the door and got a little "mob-ish."
But lots of keets have fun in the parking lot. The ones with our group last year slept in the RV with a sitter while their parents went into the show. Just an idea.
See you in Chula Vista-- less than one month away!

we took our 4 year to jones beach earlier this month and he had a wonderful time. jones beach is all reserved seating. like you, well duh, i would not consider bringing him to camden or any other venue unless it had seats. lawn seats and young children are not a good combination!well duh wrote:We didn't even consider taking our generally well-behaved six-year-olds, and I certainly wouldn't take a child that age, especially on the lawn (which even frightens me -- we went for the reserved seating).
But, I have to say that the idea about the RV & the sitter is GREAT.
I've collected a small fortune...
