Mas Tequila
I came across this article touting Sammy Hagar's success in music and then with tequila, restaurants, etc. And despite the fact that there is no comparing their tequilas, I was surprised there was no mention at all of Jimmy's similar ventures.

Pureists will accept only drink made from 100% blue agave as tequila. Margaritaville is a blend. The October edition of Chile Pepper Magazine list their top 10 tequila bars in the US, very interesting.
I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now!

I haven't had a problem with the Margaritaville tequila but then again I've been using it to mix margaritas. A friend drank some in shot form this summer and the next thing I knew he was getting very comfortable with the ground, i.e. having a "gravity storm". Thanks for the advice, I may have try some of Sammy's.

Sammy's is outstanding and the price is worth it if & when you feel like blowing $40.00 on a bottle of tequilla........ You just need an oversized shot glass, fill er' up with the Cabo, a pinch/squeeze of fresh lime and either sip it or shoot it............. Go with the mood.........

at first i was upset that jimmy's tequila was so ....whats the right word here....nasty. i thought this is jimmy buffett, he won't put his name on a half ass liquor that he help make famous and that helped make him famous, right. i was toltally shocked when i first: 1. saw the price and 2.: tasted it. trying not to be a hater but truth is the truth: margaritaville can't even be mentioned in the same sentence as cabo. fact'tis, i wouldn't even screw up good mix with. i'm sorry, but it's the truth. maybe he's trying to make it available to everybody, no matter what their income level is. i don't know, but if i were on that tight of a budget, i'd do without and save until i could buy something of quality.
if you can read this, thank a teacher. if you can read this in english, thank a soldier.

I can't even find it anymore in any of my local liquor stores...... It's made by (Seagrums, Seegrims, Seagrims, Seagrams, awwww hell I don't know the spelling anyway.........) The mix is well worth it however........ The tequilla is as generic as they come......... I kind of relate it to some great quality merchandise I have purchased on Margaritaville.com that has lasted years......... As compared to some real crappy quality stuff I have purchased at Margaritaville.com that went from xl to small after 2 washings......... To be fair, I must say that most of my purchases from Margaritaville.com have been of great quality.......... I'll give prop's where its due.......tejas wrote:at first i was upset that jimmy's tequila was so ....whats the right word here....nasty. i thought this is jimmy buffett, he won't put his name on a half ass liquor that he help make famous and that helped make him famous, right. i was toltally shocked when i first: 1. saw the price and 2.: tasted it. trying not to be a hater but truth is the truth: margaritaville can't even be mentioned in the same sentence as cabo. fact'tis, i wouldn't even screw up good mix with. i'm sorry, but it's the truth. maybe he's trying to make it available to everybody, no matter what their income level is. i don't know, but if i were on that tight of a budget, i'd do without and save until i could buy something of quality.

To me it's simple. Sammy is a true tequila aficionado and he set out to make a real tequila. His is usually considered one of the best in the world. Jimmy made something for the average fan as he probably doesn't take his tequila as serious as Sammy. I think it's good that I can afford Jimmy's rendition. If his was a pricier blend, we'd prolly hear a lot of bitching about it and how Jimmy is trying to take advantage of his fans to make more cash.
