You know, with them asking only $8,900K for the old one
ya gotta wonder if there's not somethng wrong with it...

My brother wanted to live in a fly-in community. He was a
real airplane freak, but too poor for that kind of stuff. It
just makes me wonder about the noise levels in these high
priced homes when your neighbors go out for a spin. Thanks
for the image, Lee! :D

[quote="Mango Picker"]JB also uses other pilot(s)... I am not sure where he hires them from.

Maybe Mirabella Yachts Air Division (whose hanger and aircraft got wacked by Hurricane Charley!) ????

He gets them from various places, including us. Different drivers for different equipment. Billy Howell is flying for him now, and was working with me just before that. He flies the Stearman and the 208. The job was basically bid for, and he outbid Ralph who now flies for Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga. Life at Air M'Ville can be tough, I know the guys there and many more who used to be there. Not a whole lot of time for a personal life.

Mirabella Yachts crewed the Albatross, John Stephenson, who was with us before. John is currently flying the G-111 over at Mirabella. Many of the S. Florida float/amphib rated pilots worked here at one time. Everything is fine at Mirabella after the hurricane.

From the words of my boss, a 727 owner and a feadship yacht owner, ther is "always a bigger f...ing boat" Meaning...no matter how great your boat is, how big your plane is, someone always buys one bigger.

However, Jimmy, you are getting up there....
the one he just got has three engines, it goes faster, higher, and much further, very roomy to.

I have owned many boats - none at the moment. Some here have seen the last one, sold about two years ago at the Miami Boat Show.

No truer words were spoken than "no matter how great your boat is, how big your plane is, someone always buys one bigger." But pholks, THAT AIN'T THE POINT!! Fun, or phun, is!

My guess is the twin engine wasn't phun enough, so - up to three. Good for Jimmy. It's all in "what a man can do, and what a man can't do." Jimmy probably can't bring in a 727 by his onesis, so this. Ain't one of us who wouldn't do the same given the means!

both the 50 and 900 are 3 engine aircraft. the 900 is basically a wide body version of the 50...

a shame I am too old, short, fat, and near-sighted to get my rating. Having no personal life and flying beats no personal life and not flying.. :D

Not a bad inside as well, the 900 has a lot more room

Chalks rocks! Isn't that the space shuttle cockpit?

WOW! What a plane!!!!! That is so complex, it looks like the Shuttle! But not sure they need the sheepskins in zero G. Jimmy can buzz John Travolta in his 747...

Anyone besides me that would love to see some pictures of Jimmy in his Stearman, flying cap and goggles on??( and the mandatory pilot :D GRIN!)
(hint to margaritaville.com!!!)

The glimpse of the Stearman on his 60 minutes interview was all I have seen. It looks pristine...

Just saw a beaut of a P51 in a hangar (@ DW Hooks) nearby at lunch today... and a Cessna on floats. Hooks has a great grill (and B52 burger) ... and VERY convenient for Bubba to fly into next time he plays at the Woodlands Pavilion!!! hint hint Even Arnold Palmer flew in last month in his jet for a golf tourney... Come on in Jimmy. We'll rent you a Hummer limo... big enough for the band...

Chalks Ops, I had no idea you folks did that too... but fantastic. I rode on Chalks from FTL to Atlantis (and DSTC). The ride was a fantasy come true. Total joy! If I could do anything besides my desk job, it would be flying one of those babies!!!!! Everyone there from desk to cockpit to baggage and customs were great. Low altitude over clear Caribbean waters is unforgetable.

Does anyone remember the picture in Sports Illustrated of Jimmy on the beach next to the wrecked Grumman seaplane? Any copies of that pic around? The photographer said photo rights belong to JB and co.
