Not the same vibe as JB,
but I think of going to see The Boss as equal to seeing a religious revival.

Springsteen is unbelievable on stage-he gives everything he has. It takes about 10 seconds before he has control of the entire audience since there is such an incredible sense of power and energy in his performances.

Have seen REM once-enjoyed it a lot though I am not into their music as much.

Should be a great concert!

I saw Springsteen last summer at PNC Park. He is an incredible entertainer. You are going to be a HUGE Bruce fan after the show!

I've seen Springsteen 6 or 7 times and nobody plays the crowd the way he does. This probably won't be the same as a regular Bruce show because there are other performers on the bill, but every time I've seen him he's played at least 3 hours, one show was almost 4 hours, and he doesn't take a break for an intermission. He ranks up there with The Allman Brothers as the best live shows I've ever seen.

I'm not really a Springsteen fan so I've never seen him but I've heard nothing but great things about his shows.

I'm not sure what to tell you to expect from R.E.M. Are they playing in an opening band capacity or as a co-headliner along with Bruce? In any case, I saw them on their last tour which offered a mixed bag of hits and songs they haven't played live in years but that was because they were out in support of In Time, a greatest hits collection. Since they're about to release a brand new studio album (Around the Sun on Oct. 6) I suspect you're going to get a strong sampling of tunes from it along with the hits ("Losing My Religion", "Everybody Hurts", "Man on the Moon", etc.) with maybe a rarity or two thrown in. They just played a couple of abbreviated shows in England as part of the promo tour for Around the Sun that were heavy on the hits and new stuff but that's probably because of the length of the sets. Either way, you're in for a great show.

Everyone I've ever known who has gone to see Springsteen has called it the best concert (or one of the best) they have ever seen.

Springsteen constantly changes the setlist too. He played 3 shows at Shea Stadium last October, I went to 2 of them and probably half the setlist was different for the second show.

I'm just a music fan like everyone else. Springsteen's music has just never moved me to the point of wanting to see him in concert and likely never will. I respect him as an artist but I really have no desire to own any of his albums or see him perform live.

I'll second everyone's comments on Bruce - seeing him live is an experience you'll never forget. I've never seen REM but am looking forward to them and Fogerty, too. I'm going to the St. Paul show Oct. 5 and can hardly wait.
Enjoy!

I have never seen a Springsteen concert and have no desire to from when he wrote the song 41 Shots and then performed it at Madison Square Garden....... REM I have loved since 1984..... When I first heard them do South Central Rain live, I was hooked.........

Given that most of the artists taking part have always been outspoken about their poltical beliefs I'd say it's a pretty safe bet you're going to hear some political talk. Whether it can be construed as "preaching" or not is up to the listener.
