A group of parrot heads participate each year in the annual Chili Cookoff at Stone Mountain Park, Ga., east of Atlanta. Yesterday, a group of us were standing around listening to the band playing at the time and who walks up but Mac McAnally (actually one of us had spotted him and invited him over). He signed autographs and chatted for a few minutes, and said he was looking forward to seeing a bunch of us in Key West for MOTM next month. He was very gracious considering we were all pretty drunk and acting a bit stupid. It turns out he was there to see Little Feat play a little later in the afternoon, and just happened to walk into a thicket of parrot heads. Very cool, and he's such great musician!

We won second place for showmanship. The theme chosen this year was M.A.S.H., complete with Hawkeye, Major Houlihan, Lt. Dish, Corporal Clinger in a really sylish, long black dress, Radar, and Father Mulcahy. The chili was pretty good, too. All members of the Atlanta PHC.
