Buffett on 60 Minutes

Post by PirateQueenApril »

Anyone seen the 60 minutes commercials for this week? I just did and I heard Bubba's on there!

They played this really cheesy cut of margaritaville in the background. Oh well, can't win them all. I'll definately be in front of the television this wednesday night though. 8) Somehow I didn't know he was going to be on there at all!

(CBS) Wed., Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT
Singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett talks to Correspondent Steve Kroft about his successful recording career -- which has expanded into a business
empire, and made him one of Fortune magazine's highest-earning entertainers

What did they serve on the buffet? Was Andy Rooney being a pig again?

Sorry...always tough to resist that one.

My problem is the opposite. Here at the restaurant, I keep booking people for banquets, and putting them down for "Buffett".

Buffett on 60 minutes

Post by gcraft »

Even though I can't stand those liberal idiots on 60 minutes, I will watch Jimmy on there. I just wonder if they will try and say something about having "documents" on Jimmy Buffett in the National Guard. HAHA!

Hubby and I were very recently talking about how it's a sorry state of affairs when people are so divided politically that they won't watch this program or listen to that entertainer because he/she enjoys different political views. To quote Rodney King..."can't we all just get along"

...and just because a program runs a report that ends up being unflattering towards the president doesn't necessarily mean that they have a partisan agenda....

Liberals???
You mean those stupid people that actually think for themselves??!!
Can you believe they actually believe they can have thoughts and values different than the government.
Sheesh, next thing you know there'll be people running around advocating beaches, and bars, and boat drinks!!
What IS this world coming to??????

Well, it kinda does when it's fabricated, and everyone knows it's fabricated and they try to ignore the fact that it's fabricated and hope people don't notice that it's fabricated, until it looks like they're stupid, then they admit it's fabricated. As a member of media (journalist) myself, I am offended by bias in the media, one way or the other. The true, idealistic intention of the media is to get the facts out there and let the reader/viewer decide for themselves. Not run something because it might be true because it is in line with your political agenda. Dan Rather has been showing his bias forever.
And sorry, Trying to Reason, -- keep trying. :) I would like to believe that EVERYONE is capable of thinking for themselves, not just liberals!

I too will watch the program because of Jimmy, but I know where CBS stands and I know where Rush Limbaugh stands, and I can't stand either of them!

A few years ago when Jimmy did 60 Minutes, I distinctly remember him saying that on some days he wished the Parrot Heads would just get a life already........ I still have it on video....... I hope he has mellowed a bit since the last interview.......

   I love that Saturday Night Live episode where Shatner told the Trekkies to just "Get a LIFE!" Hey, is that the first time the phrase was uttered???... do you think?
Shoot, he even wrote a book by that title: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... 01-3408842
And a web page based on the 1987 episode of SNL: http://www.stilldesigning.com/shatner/getalife_alt.htm
I know, CG -- Get a Life! Someday I will, I hope....
