Isn't it best for the wood to be backed up by a stud? :o

It reinforces anything you might want to hang.

I remember hanging a photo on the wall and we had to use a stud finder to be sure it would stay.
My whole world lies waiting behind DOOR #3! In the meantime, I am just sippin' on a margarita.........
