Why is YHTBT so expensive??
I own it and have had it for a while, but why is it so d*mn expensive?? It's well worth the money, but really. Does it really have to be $33?? Also, it doesn't have to be 2 cds. But im just gonna quit my ramblin' right now, since i know that MCA will never combine the 2 cds and lower the price

Yes it does. There's nearly 100 minutes of music on there, and the normal audio CD holds 74.DsilCaribe wrote:Also, it doesn't have to be 2 cds.

I still have the original in cassette...Only played it once to make sure it was ok......
Someone I know bought it and decided they didn't like Buffett....
I can't imagine that...but there it is....
I also have my old one but lost the cases...still have the tapes though...

YHTBT- So Dear
I've got the vinyl from 1978
It's got:
1. The lost verse from Margaritaville
2. Perrier Blues
3. Dixie Diner
4 Morris' Nightmare
Lots of reminders why we need Fingers Taylor back. "I don't know why but I love it"!

I know Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett is a friend of mine. Son, you're no Jimmy Buffett!

The price tag held me back from buying it for quite a awhile, I finally took the plunge at the Key West Margaritaville Store while on vacation.
It’s just the nature of 80s issued double CDs that are still packaged in those chunky cases. Same story with John Lennon’s Some Time in New York City. Remember, back in the 80s, single CDs cost around $15, and when you times that by 2, it’s $30. What really blew my gasket upon opening the package for the first time is that it didn’t even include the poster, the pictures on the inner sleeves (of the venues) and a few photographs from the gatefold. That and the back cover is really presented in a retarded way. Yeah, I know, who cares as long as the music is there, but for 30 bucks, I expected a full booklet inside that chunky case. Sure there is a small booklet in there, but it’s quite skimpy to say the least. They could have even took advantage of all the space inside that case and included the foldout poster in its original form. But no.
Anyway, I’m still happy I took the plunge, as it’s quite interesting to hear a JB concert before all the songs that became SYKBH were born. The previously unreleased songs are quite a treat also.

speaking of which....tdparrothead wrote:It was $66.99 in Canada because it was an import. I found it for $25.99 in the States. I wasn't gonna pay that kinda money for it here.
what is up with the Downchild Blues Band charging 20 bucks Canadian for their albums above 49 (or the lakes), and $20 on this side of the line?

I have no idea why it's so expensive but out of all of Buffett's earlier CDs it is in the one in most dire need of remastering. Even with the volume turned all the way up it still sounds very low. I also enjoy it for the time period it represents because Buffett had yet to go overboard with all the dancers and theatrics that oftentimes detract from his current concerts.

My copy doesn't sound lower than any other cd . . . but live in Seattle and live in Vegas sound very very very low!Jahfin wrote:I have no idea why it's so expensive but out of all of Buffett's earlier CDs it is in the one in most dire need of remastering.
