Wake up dudette and get with the program....... The administration was well aware of those weapons and had them documented over a year ago...... It is pretty funny how Kerry is soooooooooo desperate that he is throwing every & anything he can find into the ring a week before the election...... John Kerry makes Bill Clinton seem worthy enough to be the next Pope......mermaidindisguise wrote:OH Where oh where did our 860 lbs of explosives go.. It wasn't the Kerry campaign that controlled the timing... it was the interim Iraqi government that released a report about it this week. And I'm not sure how the administration was "aware of them".. if by that you mean that they were aware they were missing, that doesn't make me feel any better.IsleReef wrote:

Later Tuesday, Bush's aides moderated their view, saying it was a "mystery" when the explosives disappeared and President Bush did not want to comment on the matter until the facts are known.

And the Chicks are still well loved in Texas and their music gets airplay on non Clear Channel stations. Like lee said they are not promoting a cd right now so you just don't hear them as much.Key Lime Lee wrote:Pssst. The comment didn't hurt either the chicks album sales or the tour right after.... about the only thing it did do was get them dropped from some clearchannel stations for a few weeks, which says more about the consequences of media consolidation (especially when said media giant is a campaign contributor to one side) than it does about public opinion.
Ironic, because she said nothing that different than what I hear from a lot of folks in Texas.
People in Texas know exactly what Bush did to our state. When he entered the governors office the Texas governement had a huge surplus - lots of money to go towards public works. With Bush and his predecessor now the government is in the red BIG TIME. Yes there will be Texans that vote for Bush because he's from our state but those that have followed Texas politics as well as US politics know that Bush isn't good for Texas or the U.S. - period.
And I don't care who any performer votes for and backs. I vote my conscience as all voters should. (just to keep this thread sorta on track)

That is true...... But John Kerry jumped all over it and has now made it the center of his political speeches, with very little time left to actually find out what happened......Key Lime Lee wrote:It wasn't the Kerry campaign that controlled the timing... it was the interim Iraqi government that released a report about it this week. Considering that Kerry's thesis all along has been that Bush mishandled the war, wouldn't it follow that he would include what he sees as the latest demonstration of that mishandling?IsleReef wrote:

I'm sure that it would come from either side during an election...... Both sides have been mud slinging the whole way through....... I will just be happy when this is all over........Key Lime Lee wrote:Considering that Kerry's thesis all along has been that Bush mishandled the war, wouldn't it follow that he would include what he sees as the latest demonstration of that mishandling?IsleReef wrote:

Does not mean much. Our local paper endorsed Kerry as well. In 2000 the only states where Bush had a larger winning percentage were Utah and Wyoming.a1aara wrote:I've heard that Bush's hometown newspaper in Crawford, Tx ,endorsed Kerry for president.
Papers are about as out of touch with their readers opinions as Lee is with reality.

Also newspapers are completely biased and I take offense to that...PHBeerman wrote:Does not mean much. Our local paper endorsed Kerry as well. Didn't Al Gore's home state of Tennessee and Bill Clinton's home state of Arkansas both go for George Bush 4 years ago?PHBeerman wrote:Does not mean much. Our local paper endorsed Kerry as well. Actually that hasn't been substantiated... turns out the Amercian forces that went in there secured the area, but never searched or attempted to secure weapons...ginste wrote:Kerry will say anything except what he would actually do.mermaidindisguise wrote:OH Where oh where did our 860 lbs of explosives go.. Tuesday, White House officials first said the explosives may have disappeared from a vast Iraqi military complex while Saddam Hussein still controlled Iraq, saying a brigade of U.S. soldiers did not find the explosives when they visited the complex April 10, 2003, the day after Baghdad fell.
But the unit's commander told the Times his troops had not searched the site and had merely stopped there overnight.
"We did not get involved in any of the bunkers. It was not our mission. It was not our focus," Anderson said.
Later Tuesday, Bush's aides moderated their view, saying it was a "mystery" when the explosives disappeared and President Bush did not want to comment on the matter until the facts are known.
