Another permanent reminder(tattoo) post
I know that there are other posts on here about Tattoos and I've looked at them and I think at one time I even started one. But I can't help this, as my 18th birthday approaches (112 days!) I can't help but think of what I can do to make me brithday special, I told myself a couple years ago and every year on my birthday that on my 18th b-day I'm going for a tattoo, I know what i want, I know the place i'm getting it and the Tattooer there how much the design will be, how far ahead I must bring it in, EVERYTHING But I want a Buffettism phrase on there. Not like a whole phrase thought just a couple words like I was thinking Miss Magic because thats what my aunt sand to me when I was young but then when I get older what till that look like oh lets say down the road of age. haha. Also "someday I will" crossed my mind becuase of all my dreams I have for myself. I jsut wanted to see if anyone had any ideas? Any help is good! THANKS BT16

I would hold off for a while longer...... At 18 years old, (trust me on this), you are going to see things in life a lot different in 10 years and then 20 years from now...... I got my first tattoos in my late 20's........ You go through different phases in life & to jump the gun for turning 18, it will be a permanent reminder....... Just my opinion though.....

but.. at 18 you can bounce back from stupidity much faster... even if it does leave a mark..IsleReef wrote:I would hold off for a while longer...... I agree; my first tat was at 18. I don't regret it, but if I were to get one right now it wouldn't be that design.IsleReef wrote:I would hold off for a while longer...... AGREED!!! WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!!! I promise you that you will think differently even 2 years from now, let alone 10 or 20!!! Seriously, if you really want to make a statement or do something different, cut your hair or dye it another color... or make some kind of statement with your clothes or something!land_shark3 wrote:I agree; my first tat was at 18. If you are on the fence about what you want to get done, then that's a sign that you shouldn't get the tat now! It's so much cooler to go get it done once you've almost had an epiphany of who you are and what you want to mark your body for life with. I waited 2 years for one and 4 years for another... not because of fear or indecisiveness... simply because I needed to be reassured that these tattoos truly represented who I am... and I still might change my mind, but I haven't had an ounce of regret in 7 years, so I feel pretty good about my decision to wait!

I disagree. If you know what you want, go get it. If you "wait for the perfect moment" for everything you want to do in life, you're gonna find yourself on your death bed with nothing but regrets. Besides, if you get it and truly don't like it at some point down the road, go to a good artist and have it covered up, or have it removed altogether.iuparrothead wrote:AGREED!!! WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!!!
As an aside, I got my first ink at age 17. 11 years and well over 100 hours under the needle later, I don't regret a single piece.

Thanks lastplaneout that was a good laugh although everyone in my class now thinks me and my friend are crazy and thanks also redneckph thats how i saw it too. But also in this past year I HAVE found myself. I know some people may say at 17 you couldn't possibly find yourself. But I have, in the last year I have gone through so much especially in the last two months that I know where I belong, what I want to do and what exactly I want to do with my life. My tattoo is Buffett and nothing I EVER do nor ANYONE will ever change me to think otherwise. His songs have gotten me through these past couple months, and without it who knows where I maybe right now, certanliy not in school as I am right now. So as far as changing my mind I don't think that will ever happen, I know what my tat will be I just wanted a phrase to go along with it. Thanks for the good advice everyone though becuase it DID make me think more, but didn't change my mind lol. So any Buffett phrases would be great. Isn't there a song that in it it says, thats where I want to be, or go or belong or something I can't remember.
