Tipping.

Waiters, waitresses, bartenders, pizza delivery drivers all get tipped. The people that make sure I enjoy eating or drinking in their establishment get tipped better than those that just carry food and drink to the table. Those tips were an important part of my income at one time.

I tip the barber, like I tipped his father before him. It's still a cheaper haircut than most places in town.

I've never tipped a flight attendant, but I have filled out the comment cards. When I was flying every week, I frequently ran into the same flight attendants and they knew when I had sent in one of those cards.
