The news I watched this morning said there were almost 270,000 votes left to count, so it is a possibility.
But the real point here, I think, is that Kerry/Edwards made a campaign trail promise and now they're making good on it. They told people to get out and vote and that their votes would be counted. There were still 3 and 4 hour lines when the polls were supposed to close. There hasn't been this many people turn out to vote in forty years. Where's the harm in actually counting the votes?

Not at all, you who are sweet and smart and funny and all, but sometimes I wonder about you.PHBeerman wrote:Is Kerry really that stupid?
Surely you would want whoever gets to be our president to get it by the choice of the people.
Surely you, who are still sweet and smart and funny, are deeply conderned that our country is so divided, and that if we don't all grab each other's hand and go into these next four years united and with a genuine care for each other as human beings and not repubs or dems, then we will go into them divided and full of hate and on our way to a civil war.
If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before ...

140,000 Votes. They could no make up less than a thousand last time the lawyers took on the process. By continuing this course of action, the Dems are further dividing the people of this country.

i work with lawyers here in NH who told me this past summer they are ready and willing to challenge every issue they can in court to win this election This is America, no one loses because of anything they did or didn't do, always someone elses fault. Look how Edwards made his money, suing obstetricians in North Carolina, a state the dems couldn't win. Do the right thing John, don't pull a Al Gore and loses all credibility

I totally agree. It may not make a difference but they are going out with a fight and that's why I voted for Kerry/Edwards. Let's count every vote just to solidify the results.magnus wrote:The news I watched this morning said there were almost 270,000 votes left to count, so it is a possibility.

Why can't America work towards a better election system. I was watching the news and one person who waited in line for hours to vote said their were only 2 voting booths. That's part of the problem.
All this talk of voter fraud and problems reminds me of Afganistan

Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.
What voter fraud? Having to be inconvienienced by waiting?ph4ever wrote:Why can't America work towards a better election system. I was watching the news and one person who waited in line for hours to vote said their were only 2 voting booths. That's part of the problem.

When the polls closed, there were still hours long lines. Some voters opted to use paper ballots rather than wait in the line. These were different than the provisional ballots, according to the talking heads I watched, and therefore weren't counted in the 135k number.12vmanRick wrote:according to the Secretary of State's office in Ohio only 135k provisional ballots were issued. Not sure where the 270k is coming from.
If, after counting all the votes, Bush wins, then so be it. But again, why can't all the votes be counted before a final decision is made? More people made the effort to get off their arses and cast a ballot yesterday than in the last 40 years. Count them all before a winner is declared.

Well they also came back and tried to say something about military not being counted.magnus wrote:When the polls closed, there were still hours long lines. However, now the Kerry side has realized that with the percentage of votes that Bush got by ratio the provisional ballots will not give Kerry enough to carry Ohio which is the only state left that matters.
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.
