This deferred compensation was negotiated into his compensation package while he was an exec at Haliburton.

Actually, a lot of it was riders on other bills... the reality is that evil vampire trial lawyers want to bleed millions of dollars out of doctors because they get upwards of 30% of the the financial award. The general public and juries still believe that doctors are wealthy and can afford it, when that is disgustingly wrong. Doctors are not all wealthy, especially when they have to pay $140,000 malpractice premiums like surgeons do here in Illinois.

after reading 15 pages of this...here is my quick end of the day "drive thru" of opinions...
1. I voted for W
1A. I'm a christian
2. I was concerned about the impact changing leaders would have in the middle of a war
3. I vote on issues based on my own conscience, which is led by my perception of morality and faith
4. I have the right to not like people's lifestyle choices, (I too have gay friends and on occasion love them more than my hetero friends).
5. Since I might not like people's lifestyle choices, I have the right to not want to be lumped in the same category as them (definition of marriage)
6. I don't want to say, I'm married, and have people wonder if I'm gay or hetero (i'm not married yet either)
7. There are other ways to give gay couples the same rights and benefits of hetero couples...without CHANGING what has already been there... creating a new concept isn't a bad thing....
8. I agree that we're all different, but equal in the fact that we all have different moral values...and thus vote and think differently! We should all cherish that right of our own, as well as that right for others!
9. My biggest issue is that people with opposing views of mine think I shouldn't vote my conscience, and don't tolerate me... when those same people are voting their own conscience, and demand me to tolerate them...

How long do they have to pay that $140,000? Is that over a career or what. That does not seem to be very fair. Here in Peoria, the is a lawyer that has his staircase outlined in gold. The door handles are all gold. His name is etched in marble and filled with gold. He is an ambulance chaser. He also owns the biggest house in our fine little town.
