I was a paramedic and firefighter for 8 years. I worked many accidents involving serious injuries and fatalities, but I never once unbuckled a dead man.
Seatbelts might not have saved any or all of those people, but they never gave theirselves a chance.
That's an annual premium.captainjoe wrote:How long do they have to pay that $140,000? Is that over a career or what. That does not seem to be very fair. Here in Peoria, the is a lawyer that has his staircase outlined in gold. The door handles are all gold. His name is etched in marble and filled with gold. He is an ambulance chaser. He also owns the biggest house in our fine little town.
Besides, it makes it easier for paramedics to find the bodies, doesn't it?Elrod wrote:Pay the ticket and send the officer a thank you note.aquaholic wrote:I'm gonna complain.......I got a frikin ticket on my way hope for no seatbelt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That $140,000 is paid every year!!! And it increases every year... so surgeons might be paying over $150,000 next year. (Not included a 300,000 tail if they move practices to cover the statute of limitaitons on lawsuits that might be filed against them within three years)
Dude! You live in southern Illinois! You don't have a single neurosurgeon within 300 miles of you because they can't afford to practice in this state. There are NO neurosurgeons south of Joliet. That's really scary. And Ob/Gyns are fleeing the state as well because their malpractice insurance is skyrocketing. Young doctors are leaving IL in droves.
Nope just pointed out that there may be a legitimate reason that Al Franken has not told you aboutcaptainjoe wrote:The homophobe just called me stupid!PHBeerman wrote:You might want to do your research before you spout such stupidity.captainjoe wrote:Does that not strike you as a bribe?
