Dispatch is a band many people who like Buffett may never have heard of but they are an amazing music story. They started in the mid 90's and through the rapid spread of their music through underground souces like Napster they went from performing at birthday parties in the late 90's and became one of the most popular Independent bands of all time. A year ago Dispatch decided they were breaking up but before they broke up they would have one final show. They planned for the show to be at the Hatch Shell in Boston with a few thousand fans. Instead, far over 100,000 thousand people came from all over the world for this event. The highways around the Hatch Shell had to be shut down because fans spilled over into the roads. People flew in from South Africa, Japan, Australia, Italy, Ireland and other places for this amazing concert event. I have been to many amazing concert but th magnitude and emotions at this show far surpassed anything I had ever experienced in music.
The new CD/DVD is called All Points Bulletin and it is a double CD and DVD of the whole Boston show. Dispatch is the band that truly got me to love music and that is why I am posting this hoping to continue the spread of their music. Their music is something that everyone should at least listen to once because I guarantee at least some of you will fall in love with it like I did. Thats it.
