Last year we knew that Jimmy and AJ would be opening the show with Five O'Clock Somewhere. Anyone heard when Jimmy and friends will perform HGL on Tuesday?

The promo I saw yesterday listed a number of performers that didn't include Jimmy followed by "and that's just the first hour". So maybe it will be later in the evening.

After this recent "mainstream" success, I would suspect it will be much later in the evening.

I say it will be very close to the end of the show, Jimmy and Alan blew everyone else off the stage last year playing first. And didnt the rebroadcast for other countries actually move their performance to the end of the show.

Don't forget overnight - it's "overnight mainstream success", remember?

Seriously, your logic makes sense to me. This performance is huge and I expect them to dangle it for a while to keep people watching. I'm interested to see how it turns out.

I know, can you imgine Jimmy Buffett playing country music with some of the top country acts? :o Who would have ever thought they could all get together in one place? Its a shame I can't see that in person. :( Oh wait, hasn't he already done that?

I am sure they will keep him until close to the end of the show....I just heard a commercial blurb ( and not all of it ) and I heard them name Jimmy Buffett. I was not sure I heard right.

They always keep "the carrot dangling..." so to speak, so they can keep viewers to the very end to watch the BLEEPING commercials. Too bad they don't make the GREAT commercials like they usually do, for the Superbowl, NOW that would be worth sticking around for.

Anyone capable of recording it and sharing it either cd or DVD??

I could be wrong, I was once before. But I think I heard early on that HGL would open the CMA's. But either way the DVR is already set.

One of the CRB shared a conversation with me while we endured a 3 hour layover in Miami and said that they were scheduled to close the show with HGL...

Makes sense that it would be the finale... but remember, all the big acts get spots at the top and bottom of the hour to hook the people just tuning in.

Tonight had BETTER be the night I meet Jimmy! Y'all keep your fingers crossed for me!

Nashville Hotline (a news blurb on US99) just confirmed that the HGL performance will close the show...

I can only hope they run long, so as not to miss the exciting conclusion of NYPD Blue! Times like this I wish I had TIVO!

I guess they did save the best for last. Jimmy looked a little out of place with all those hats singing with him. :D

*sigh* I was within inches of the man... but alas... did not get to meet him. He was TOTALLY surrounded by people at the label party... everyone wanted to meet him. Some of them got to, I did not.

:(

Our morning guy was heckling me on the air this morning about how I should have just germed right up to him and introduced myself. I was waiting for the crowd to clear out a little, but it didn't. He didn't stay all that long, he was gone before midnight.

It was a great party though - had a Pirates of the Carribbean theme... he fit in well. ;)
