He didn't win Musical Event of the Year what a bunch of crap!! Who the hell are Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss? Maybe I missed something but when did they bring some of the hottest names, in Country Music, together on one kick ass album???

Who cast the vote here? A bunch of backwoods sheep farmers who had Whiskey Lullaby running through their head as they relieved their tensions?

I love Alison Krauss. I don't prefer to listen to that type of song with Brad P, but it was an event in COUNTRY music.

Alison is Viktor Krauss's sister. He's a fantastic bass player in Lyle Lovett's large band. She also did a fantastic duet with James Taylor called "How's the World Treating You." I love her cover of the Beatles song I Will. She is one fine fiddler and singer.

I really enjoy listening to her cds.

Backwoods sheep farmers? Not exactly..... :-?

The members of the Country Music Association cast votes, and I'm sure they know (as do most country music fans) who Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss are.......
Awards Process
Any mention of the CMA Awards elicits the question, "How are the winners chosen?" The answer to that query does much to explain why the CMA Awards are so highly regarded and coveted by the recipients.

CMA award winners are chosen in voting by industry professional members of the Country Music Association. Thus, award winners are honored by their peers in the music industry.

Alison Krauss is awesome...I have been buying her cds for many years, and I've never been disapointed. She has such a "haunting" quality to her vocals. The song choices she and Union Station choose are always so unique.

Brad Paisley is the "newer" BIG name in country music...his cds are great as well. (and he's easy on the eyes...too  )

Everyone is right but, what I don't understand is how is those two, getting together, "The Event" of the year?

I don't agree with the winner (obviously). But I like both Paisley and Kraus.

At any rate, for those of you who missed the performance, cruise on over to my web site ( http://www.music4life.info ) for an MP3 of the performance.
