Is it just me or........

Post by bananaman »

Maybe I've been living in a deep hole lately but....where did Peter Mayer go? He wasn't on the CMA's with Jimmy last night(or at least I didn't see him) and that CAN'T be him on the LTC album. That guitarist on LTC plays nothing like Peter. Quite frankly-and this might sound bad-I find that new guitarist's sound very annoying. Am I alone here???? Don't get me wrong, I love the new songs but something just isn't quite right about them. Maybe I'm still going through "Fingers withdrawls" or something, but I swear a harmonica would sound better in place of all that annoying guitar. Does any one else feel the same way?? Anyhow.......just thought I would express my two cents. :D JIMMY RULES!!

Peter and Jim did not participate in recording LTC. Sonny Landreth and Will Kimbrough played on the CD and last night at the awards show.

The LTC recording sessions conflicted with the Mayer brothers' annual Christmas Tour. They passed on the money that would've come from performing on that album to do something that has been very important to them for many years.

I'm glad that they brought their Christmas concert to my town last year and are returning this year.

I actually prefer the sound Sonny Landreth, Will and Bill Payne bring to the latest Buffett record.

I agree, Sonny Landreth is a great (Grammy nominated) guitarist in his own right. In PM absense, I thought he added a lot to LTC. But it clearly is a different sound.

From what I could see when they were both on stage in Boston, they were both having a good time.

I kind of rushed through my post earlier....... I meant that I like the sound of LTC and was not aware of who was playing guitar on the album..... I would of thought/hoped it was Mayer, but I have no complaints after hearing it............ :P :P :P
