You know what....that really isn't funny.
Especially if you have a child that is draft age.

Don't Fret---He will re-instate the draft. Just glad I already served my 4 years in the Armed Services.

I think people can look at this with a sense of humor. Has the conservative buzz that is "sweeping" the nation taken our sense of humor as well? I believe the "joke" of the picture is a man who was once an abuser of alcohol and now a "Christian" is, in fact, ordering a beer. Could that be considered a flip-flop?

Actually...that wasn't the point at all. The point is people are all riled up about Bush and the draft, (Which is untrue I might add) and Bush really is "ordering a draft"..it's whatever ou make of it.....I saw the picture and the caption elsewhere and thought it was quite funny

Hey, I thought it was funny.
(Better to laugh than to cry, right?)

When I first read the title my heart skipped a beat as my son is registered.

Do I see the humor? Yes it is funny. But it's a sick kind of funny. Bush being a former abuser should never drink. Anyone familiar with any form of addiction knows this.

he no longer drinks....

and he can't re-instate the draft without congress passing legislation authorizing it... the House voted down the measure about a week before the election.

I wish people would get off of this draft talk. Its not going to happen. Bush said he's not going to do it, and he doesn't want to. Besides, like stated in an earlier post its not just Bush, its has to be approved through Congress and its already been voted down.

I have stake in it too....I'm of age for the draft

Bush has said, more than once, that he has no plans to reinstate the draft. And that proposed legislation that was voted down in the House was introduced by Charles Rangel, a Democrat from NY.
