PHBeerman, I have no retort for you, I have not experienced skiing out west but from friends and family who have they defintly agree with you. I have a friend who goes to school somewhere in colorado and he has a seasons pass to jackson hole and some other ski resorts and he says its so much better there than it is in the east.
I think your friend is confused   Jackson Hole is in Wyoming    I've never been back east but I can only imagine the CO skiing kicks it's booty tho!
But Long Island has much better beaches than Colorado. 8)

Colorado State is about 1 hr south of the Wyoming border, but Jackson Hole is WAY north and west of there. It's AT LEAST a 6 hour drive, if not 7-9 hours. I'm not doubting the fact that he may have a season pass...he prolly just likes driving, or he's pulling your chain. Some of the best skiing in the states (IMO) is available to him within a 2-3 hour drive at the Colorado resorts!

Before I get another geography lesson let me correct myself. After looking on a map it appears that Jackson Hole is nowhere near Colorado. My friend has been to Jackson Hole but probably doesnt have his seasons pass to there. Its to three mountains in Colorado. Either way all signs point to superior skiing out west.

Colorado State is in Fort Collins.

Out here it is different than back east. It can take a whole day to get from one state to another state.

This is not your fault. Your friend must be lying to you.

He goes to either Northern Colorado or Colorado states. He is going to school to learn to teach and lead expeditions (rock climbing, mountain climbing, ice climbing, things of that nature). I havent seen him since the summer.

He is still lying. Winter Park would be the closest and it is more than an hour away.

To get to multiple mountains, you would have to go to Breck which is at least 3 hours.

Ohhhh. He goes to University of Northern Colorado then. That's in Greeley which is just south and east of Ft. Collins. I have an uncle and cousins and an ex-boyfriend there.

Next time you talk to him, ask him about the smell in Greeley on Thursdays. They have a huge slaughterhouse in Greeley and it's super-super smelly (like ick ick yucky icky smell!!).

He could ski Sol Vista which is slightly closer (but smaller than Winter Park) but not a known hot-spot for college kids. I *think* A-Basin and Eldora (if that's still open) might be close too. A-Basin is cool and hip tho.

At least you're being honest. The truth is, BB has no friends either. Nor does she ski even though she lives in Colorado. I think that makes her a commie.
