Did you see it? Hysterical. At least to me and Mr. Mojito. Unhooking Spiro Agnew's railroad car is something I would have done in my "inhaling" daze. :D

Okay. I forget there's someone else out there who loves obscure little movies.

Like THE YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY. There were about 8 people in the theater the night we saw it . . . they all left before it was over. I couldn't move, I was so struck by it. And that "make out" scene when they're driving down from the embassy. Wow. Now, that's hot.

Kinda like that scene in THE AGE OF INNOCENCE when he kisses the countess' glove. *Swoon*

We were the last ones in TYOLD for about the last hour. But, I couldn't speak. I was blown away. I had never seen either Gibson or Weaver and I didn't know Linda Hamilton from Adam's Fox.

Let me help you . . .

I been workin' here at the D.Q. for about, um... eight months? Seven? I don't know, somethin' like that, it's fun. Just do the cones... make sundaes, make Blizzards, 'n... put stuff on 'em, 'n... see a lot of people come in, a lot of people come to the D.Q... burgers... ice cream... anything, you know? Cokes... just drive in and get a Coke, if you're thirsty.

What the city council did was really... give me a challenge, and it's a challenge that I am going to... accept. It's like in the olden days, in the... days of France, when men would slap each other with their gloves... say, y'know..."D'Artagnan!"... y'know, "how dare you talk to me like that, you!," and... smack 'em!

It's like in a Hitchcock movie, you know, where they tie you up in a rubber bag and throw you in the trunk of a car. You find people.

Here's a couple quotes from a strange little movie....

"Forget therapy, he needs a quaalude."

ZZZZZ: "Oh, so this is Mexico. "
[ZZZZZ looks at XXXXX, the map, and the tall trees around them, then grabs the map, turns it upside down, and hands it back to XXXXX.]
ZZZZZ: "Oh, so this is Oregon. "

"Now what do we do? "
"We can always dive for the Andrea Doria. I know it's around here somewhere. "

The Hollywood producer in GP is the musical director in Guffman. He's a strange little man, huh? Good actor. Really gets into his characters.

I nearly had to get oxygen after seeing GUFFMAN the first time. The current MAYOR and I saw it in Dallas and we started screaming with laughter in the first scene with the city council's discussion about where to place the port-a-potties and the SNIPER during the 150th birthday party.

And that girl who was on the council was was a descendent of Blaine ????? . . . she should have gotten an Academy Award nomination for that speech about ". . . knowing how the Kennedys feel." I nearly fell outta my seat.
