Rolling Stone mag's Top 500 songs.....

Post by citcat »

Does anybody have the latest issue of Rolling Stone? The Top 500 songs of all time (according to THEM) is listed in the magazine. I wonder where "Margaritaville" is, and if "Come Monday" is on it?

I haven't seen the whole list but I saw an article in the paper that showed the Top 20. I think Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone was #1 and for some unknown reason a Nirvana song was about #9 or so. I could probably come up with about 5000 songs that are better than anything Nirvana did, in my opinion. (Disclaimer for the music snobs among us)

Really? All I seem to remember seeing from quite a few folks around here is endless b itching anytime I post an article from Rolling Stone or Billboard. Er...., maybe that was another board. Nope, that only happens here.

The only way to get the list for now may be from the print edition since the list doesn't seem to be online.

Thanks for checking anyway. It just wouldn't be a Rolling Stone thread without you.

see, but there are about 100 better buffett songs than those, especially margaritaville, so i hope they don't just include singles.

Billboard.com has an article up about the RS Top 500 songs but there's no mention of Buffett:

Let me get this straight, Elvis Presley's highest ranking song is #19 and Nir-f'n-vana is #9? That's just ridiculous.

Frank's from Pennsylvania not NJ, so I'm guessing he's not a friend of ex-Gov. McGreevey. You may be right.
