Retirement Savings Advice?

For any financial gurus out there. Please read the following assuming that my significant other and I will live happily ever after! :)

My wife currently works for a public agency which offers a great retirement plan which includes a 401(k), 401(a), 457(b), and pension plan (she contributes to all of them). I work for a public school district which offers a 403(b) and pension plan. Should I forgo the 403(b) and just max out my wife's plan? If not, why not? We each also contribute the allowable max to Roth IRAs.

Pretty boring topic but what the hay! :)

Thanks!! 8)

The bar should be open by now. I say go blow it all and worry about money later. I thought people had kids so that someone would take care of them when they couldn't work anymore.

You should build your own retirement nest egg just in case. I'm not suggesting anything is wrong in your marriage yet on the off chance that your wife were to leave you, you would have something to live off of.
