I was definitely not the sorority or fraternity type in college, but my boyfriend is in Theta Chi. Was just curious to know if any of you are/were in the Greek scene.

I went to college when joining a fraternity or a sorority was extremely uncool....too establishment! We hippies in the seventies called ourselves GDI....!!!! Now my son's a Pike, for gosh sakes.

I'm definitely NOT the "sorority type." When I was in college, I belonged to Alpha Phi Omega, a national co-ed service fraternity. I'm a life member, in fact. :D

I went to Shippensburg (85-89) and I found it more cost effective to join the Rugby club - only $10 dues to pay for the kegs, you got to party with hot male rugby players, no one tortured you and circled the fat on your body with a sharpie while you stood naked in front of the entire sorority (they did that to my friend), and I got in shape from all the running and beating up of other women :D

I pretty much went out of my way to avoid anything even remotely associated with a fraternity in college.

I never could see the rationale in paying $500 per semester for friends. I had no problems whatsoever with drinking their beer on the weekends, however :D

From what I noticed, Frats are for people who lack the social skills to make friends on their own. Thus, they choose to live with a bunch of other social retards.

Read it again. I didn't say "all frat boys", I said "most of the ones I KNEW". That's not stereotyping, it's from personal experience. I'll type slower next time if it'll help.
