I know that I am opening myself up for humiliation, etc. BUT, in my Living & dying in 3/4 time and Livin' La Vida Loca, I have gained twenty ugly pounds. Has anyone else's grass skirt become too tight and would like to join me in getting those off using the South Beach Diet???

This is pretty personal stuff, so I started a buddy group at yahoo. Please, join me there!! We can get Buff for Buffett, together. The addy:

Parrotheads_4_SouthBeach@yahoogroups.com

And Please.... do not make fun of me... This took courage on my part.

Blessings and Cheers.

Way to go!
I think South Beach is great for me. I have lost the "easy" 20 lb and still have about 3 times that to lose. They will leave more slowly but they will go!

The "link" is just an email address: how do I get to your group?

Best of luck to you Beach Blonde. I've never gone the South Beach route (mainly because I love sugar and I can't keep track of what I eat). Like you, I had a similar problem after I graduated college. I'm trying to get the weight off now by working out and just eating less bad stuff.

Good for you, BB!!

I say anyone who wants to make fun first has to post a picture of himself or herself in nothing but a Speedo or a bikini....... 8)

(and even then, anyone who make fun of an effort like this would be a jerk..... :P )

BB - GOOD FOR YOU!!!! The best time to lose the weight is over the winter - gives you something to do during the slow months :-)

I'd join you but I'm on/did the Rotation Diet - lost 13 pounds over the summer.......10 more to go :-)

What does this particular diet entail?

Well since I do have to buy groceries when Steven comes over I can tell you it's a carb counting diet. I buy lots of meat, veggies, string cheese, sugar free jello cups and peanut butter - if that helps. I know there's an online south beach diet site.

Although I'm a critic of these diets, I have to admit that I am extremely impressed with my roommate's success on the South Beach diet. She works out diligently, but just wasn't losing the lbs. and inches she wanted to. She started on the diet around 2 months ago and I've seen a dramatic difference in her size. He pants are falling off her!

She is extremely dedicated to this diet though. She absolutely never "cheats". I'm a carb-a-holic and she never caves in when I'm snacking on pretzels, or eating pizza. I could never see someone having the results she's seen without being as regimented as she is. And I don't think any "diet" is appropriate without significant increases in physical activity... it should be part of a lifestyle change, not just a change in eating habits!!!

I came to the conclusion last year that it would be easier to just get married and therefore no longer have to concern myself with my appearance, than it would be to lost the weight.
