Dressing is what you put on a salad. Stuffing is what you "stuff" in the turkey!

I have been a resident of the State of Texas my whole entire life and no matter where I lived, with the exception of Japan and Turkey, came back every single year of my life at least twice a year and what was cooked in the bird is stuffing and separately was dressing. Oh, and it was cornbread dressing ... not that there's anything wrong with the other.
I, of course, prefer stuffing.
