I have been a resident of the State of Texas my whole entire life and no matter where I lived, with the exception of Japan and Turkey, came back every single year of my life at least twice a year and what was cooked in the bird is stuffing and separately was dressing. Oh, and it was cornbread dressing ... not that there's anything wrong with the other. :D

I, of course, prefer stuffing.
