Seen the ocean countless times. Being there is the only time I feel that absolutely nothing can go wrong in life

You are just a bundle of cheer, tomm!!

If I ever decide to commit suicide, I'm calling you for inspiration!

Oh, I forgot to say, I love the ocean! I've dipped my tootsies in the Pacific, Atlantic, the Gulf, & the Carribean - I love 'em all, but the warmer, the better!

Yeah, I was thinking it would have to something akin to drinking myself to death - over a VERY long period of time!

I grew up with the ocean.......and even now where I am (a few hours from there....) I think it would be really hard for me to be completely landlocked.........I am a mermaid at heart!!!

Today - I AM GLAD for the ocean .. as I am sitting in my home - no fan or airconditioner on - while those out in the "suburbs" are melting
Gotta love the ocean breeze!

Nine years in the Navy, ten years living in Hawaii less than 100 yards from the ocean.
By the time I'd turned 30, I puked and p*ssed in all seven seas.

I feel like the luckiest girl in the world ... I've seen the Mediterranean, Carribean and the Agean Seas. I've seen the Pacific and the Atlantic Oceans. I've seen the Gulf of Mexico and the inlet of Alaska's Inside Passage.
The thing about the ocean for me is the way it smells and sounds.
My next favorite bodies of water are rivers ...

This is so true! We grew up near the ocean, spent our entire summers out at the beach house, and then, after I got married, my husband got transferred to Chicago for a few years. You really just don't feel "right" in the middle of the country if you're used to living near the ocean. Maybe it's got something to do with tidal rhythms.
As for experiencing extreme cold, no thanks! We hit 33 below zero without the wind chill factor in Chicago, 75 below with it, and it's brutal. Body parts start dropping off, breathing hurts, and after you've been out in weather like that for even 20-30 minutes, you feel like you'll never get truly warm again.
I think we should take up a collection for buffettbride so she can come see the ocean...

I live near Lake Michigan and have seen it many times. I have seen the Atlantic a couple times ..... standing there looking out ... the only difference in the visual is the size of the waves but the 'feel' is tremendously different.

First time I saw the ocean I was 3 feet tall, and that did it for me. 10 years in the Navy, lived on islands for over 20 years and sailed the carribean and the Gulf of Mexico. Yup, I've seen the ocean and it's in my blood.

Yep seen the Atlantic Ocean too many times to count, sailed it,fished it, and dove it. Seen and fished the Gulf of Mexico......I currently live on a river. I have been out so far out the closest land was underneath the boat and outta site.
I am less than 20 miles from the Atlantic. There are several islands in the area. Ameilia Island,Fla,Cumberland Island,Jekyl,St.Simons, Sea Island,
are in Georgia and close by.
I have experienced North Dakota winters first hand. I will take the dry cold anyday over the wet cold. It does not affect you the same way and you can warm up faster from the dry cold than if you are wet and cold.
After experiencing the cold out on the rivers and sounds here I know!
I would love to see and experience Antartica and to visit the South Pole....just my adventuresome spirit I guess. There is a beauty to it that not everyone appreciates.
I have spent time in Arizona and experienced the desert as well... again there is beauty in it, that not everyone sees or appreciates
True story, not long after I was stationed in North Dakota..........I had only been there a few months if that long, and thought I was seeing things. I told my partner to hit me, because I was seeing things.
He said why what did you see? I said I thought I saw a seagull and I have not seen one since I left home. He said nope your not seeing things. THERE ARE seagulls in North Dakota!
Bleeping seagulls in the Geographic Center of North America....Who would have thunk it?

Yep, the Gulf and the Atlantic. Something magical about salt water.
Live about 2 blks. from a huge reservoir on the Grand River.
Have floated several rivers, trout fished in several, don't remember water not having a major influence in my life, and that's alright with me.

Atlantic and Pacific (from both sides); Caribbean; Gulf of Mexico, Sea of Japan; all 5 Great Lakes, and the Bering Sea.
I still have a few on the list.
