I just saw on a Sports message board a bunch of dorks bitching about Buffett playing a concert in Wrigley this summer???? They didnt have any links for proof but has anyone else heard this? Could this finally be the "Stadium" tour year?

I haven't heard anything, but HOW ironic would it be for the same thing that happened to Boston this year happens to Chicago NEXT year-Buffett plays at Wrigley, the Cubs become world champs, and the local yuppies be damned!

I heard (from a trusted source) that he will be playing Citizens Bank Park in Philly this summer. I think this might be the summer of the ballpark shows..

There were rumors that Wrigley people were checking out the Fenway show, so there have been a few rumors for a while.
Wrigley Field is one of my favorite places on earth-how cool would that be!

If he does do a ball-park tour, I hope he doesn't overlook Denver!!! Yikes!

It would be great if Jimmy played Wrigley. The place deserves to have a winner and someone who has been successful play in the place.

Jimmy at Wrigley would be too perfect. Just as long as it doesnt replace Alpine! I was just at the Hurricane show, but with the new book and him on TV, I am starting to get really antsy about the summer!

I laughed just as hard when the Cards were swept by the Red Sox.

I live here in Chicagoland and the Wrigly Company is definitely floating plans to have shows at the field. They do have a major hurdle to jump in convincing the neighborhood that it's a good thing. People are already upset about drunk kids taking a leak on their lawns. Imagine seeing a guy with a coconut bra and a parrot on his head whipping it out into your geraniums. The talk on the radio here is that Jimmy is VERY interested in being the first to play. He does have that significant tie to Chicago and Wrigly via Steve G. Hope it happens and I'll be one working the mojo to get 4 tickets, just don't want the obstucted views!

I assume you mean the first to play next summer, as he obviously would not be the first to play Wrigley Field in a major concert.
