I know some people around here have strong opinions about illegally downloading tracks, but what is everyone's opinions on downloading obscure stuff you can't buy? Is it still wrong? Can you still be sued for it? Does it make you cooler to have a copy of Hank Williams singing Trip Around the Sun?

Download whatever you want/...I do it everyday. MP3's are gems...where else can you burn 4 different albums onto 1 CD..I mean c'mon. Now old stuff that you can't find ..it is an incredible resource...other stuff I sometimes buy...If I download sumthin' and i really like it..I go out and buy it. Though I must admit 85% of about 400 CD's I have in my case are burned. Downloading just gives you more access,...I even have stuff 2 or even 3 weeks before it hits store shelves. Don't worry about it..it is now illegal...technically...But unless you are selling bootlegs out of your trunk I don't really have a problem with it

I'm all for it,,,,, but do not forget to thank Lars (that idiot from Metallica) for destroying Napster. When Napster was at its peak, I was finding the most hard to find, rare near extinction, live music I ever heard.......

What downloading programs are out there now to try and find the obscure stuff? I used to use Kazaa a long time ago, but I thought that went down. Any suggestions?

I really dont see a problem with downloading music. There have been MANY cds that I have gone out and spent alot of money to buy, and then only enjoy one song on the whole cd. Why should I pay anywhere from 10 to 16 dollars to buy a cd to listen to just one song that I have heard on the radio, liked it, bought the cd, and the radio song is the only one that is a decent song on the whole disc? And as long as I download music to listen to for my own enjoyment, and Im not selling it to anyone, then I cant see anything wrong with it. WinMX is a good site for downloads. ':pirate:'
