Live is the place to see 'em. In the years I've been going to see them I've seen the crowds grow greatly. The last few shows they've done in Raleigh have been sold out. For their live stuff I recommend Alabama Ass Whuppin' or joining the DBTs list to trade with folks.

On several of the other lists I am on, it seems that most of the people like them. Not the hostility there is here towards them.

The hostility here is based more on, "what can I say today to p*** Jahfin off" rather than someone actually offering an honest opinion. Not that some people haven't made the effort to listen to them, I'm sure they have but even if they liked them I doubt they would be willing to say so when they think they'll get more of a reaction by saying they "s uck", which isn't much of opinion, it's more of a knee jerk reaction intended to illicit a specific response. I recommended Tift Merritt to a fellow poster here, they went out and bought her CD and liked it. Which makes me wonder, if one of us recommended an artist and they actually liked them would they say so? I've seen people slam Will Kimbrough in this forum just because I mentioned him. I guess they aren't aware of his work on the new Buffett album or just take too much of a thrill in slamming artists just for the reaction they *think* they're going to get.

It would be one thing if it was intended as humor but it's not, it's intended to upset people. That doesn't work either so it makes the posters that are guilty of it out to be the true jerks that they are.
