Isn't Willie the only one that turned him down?

Allison Krauss also turned him down for LTC
Thanks for the add'l info re. Allison Krauss. I'm still not sure anyone else could have pulled off what Jimmy did for LTC.

By the way, how the heck do I get this thing to quote an individual's post or a series of posts vs. just saying "quote"??? Haven't figured that out yet....
Quiet and Shy...go up to the top of the post across from "post subject" and find the word "quote"...click on that. You can go to the middle and delete text you don't want to quote.

One thing I just can't figure out though...what's Jimmy gonna do with the POW verse he always has someone else sing?...

"I'm a dreadful sight and I just don't care
Spent all morning pulling out my hair :o :o
I woke at dawn with a crazy spin
Half the day trying to glue back in" :P :P
Mac sings it when they do it live! And does a fine job of it I might say!

<--------starting to get a crush on Mac.
BB, remember at the Coastal Confession show, the girls did a verse too. I know they sang the verse about "the Lord created me" and then the words "remember him or HER" something in the night.

Mac seems so easy to love and it is always nice to hear him sing.

Maybe Jimmy will have to keep those words in front of him to sing POW, like he did on Do YOu Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans...he did keep double-cheching his lyrics sheet on that one.

I will never remember all the words to that one, so it won't make any difference if he sings em wrong to me.

Label says end of January... no current plans to make the new version available to buy at retail as a single.

Hmm... maybe I could auction my radio single off for the highest bid in margaritas....

;)

I'll start the bidding at 1. Or come to the next concert in Dallas for all you can drink in the parking lot.

Very interesting to know that Willie and Allison Krause turned him down, I wonder what songs they would have been in on.

Kind of off topic here guys, and girls, but does anybody know where a Coastal Confessions promotional poster could be purchased at. I know there were some available at movie theaters, but anybody know anywhere online to get them?

I just heard it on the radio for the first time - the duet version with Toby. It was on 99.5 The Wolf in Dallas. Anybody else heard it on the radio yet?

No. And I check a new music radio site every day and they don't have either version added. :-?

yeah and "if" that's true it's seems strange considering that Willie seems to record with everybody and their mother.

I also suspect that a lot of country stations will play the duet version, especially if they know that Toby is in it.

I'm looking at BDS reports now...

We're (XM's Highway 16) playing it the most - 20 spins over the past 7 days.

Next is WYUU in Tampa with 11 spins, WCTK in Providence with 7, then a handful of places have spun it 3-5 times and a few more just once (probably on some sort of new music challenge thing.)

Nothing on here that I can see indicates whether anyone's playing the duet version or the solo version. Will keep my eyes open in the trades to see if anything interesting pops up.

By the way, going back to my earlier post about the rights and such... I talked to Toby's label, and was told that RCA didn't have "Single Rights" to this song. Which means basically what I said earlier... they can give an artist permission to record on someone else's album, but the other label can't work it as a single.

Heard it today in Fort Wayne, Indiana on WQHK K-105. We're getting the duet version here. Can't wait to see if they start playing the Jimmy only version too.

I just heard the solo version on a radio website. I don't know how much I dig the background vocals. It just sounds kind of odd. :-?

Sorry, it's a protected website. If there's anyway I could save it to my computer and then email it to a server or some central location, I would be happy to do it.
